P.S. Defense is good, in case it wasn't already mentioned lul
Not sure what you're trying to start here, but I aint falling for your antics. If you have some advice on spines and good resistant based sets to go with it, then I'm listening. Other than that, I have nothing more to say to you.

My Spines/Electrical is now 33 and things keep getting better. She's a right tough little pin cushion. Lightning Reflexes is such a wonderful thing to abuse by piggy-backing Hasten on it--suddenly every power you have has nearly 3 SOs worth of recharge in it for free before you add recharge SOs. Having Build Up available every 30+ seconds (more than 30. . .curse you ED) is wonderful.

Did I mention I am falling in love with Ripper? Didn't strike me as all that great, but when a group swarms around you it is easy to get it to hit multiple targets.

Confession time: Spines always struck me as something silly and unherioc and so I had little intention of ever trying the set (add too the original graphics were a turn off). I have confessed this in part upthread. Ever since my return to CoH (6 year break) I have been trying to come up with a character of most ATs that would be worth taking to 50. I already had a Elec/Nin Stalker who, while fun enough at lower levels and nifty enough due to Lightning Rod, I could see no clear path forward for through his mid-30s. (Stalker Epic powerset choices really blow btw.) I also don't like the notion much of repeating myself on powersets, so already having a DM/ElA Brute, if it had not been for this thread (and a certain amount of altitis--darn it Bio Armor, come out already) I would never have made the character.

Thankfully I did. She's an absolute blast to play (at least so far).

Hmmm. . .Shadowmeld. . .you look interesting.

There is nothing wrong with building the way you want. Some people like to turn the difficulty to +4x8, some people want to do much much less. No big deal.
If you are playing on a team as a tank, people will expect you to survive and control aggro though. The considerate thing to do would be to let people know you skip your main defensive powers before the team wipes.

I do. Dont even think most of them even notice any difference as and or I havent been on a team that that wiped on my WP tanks. Maybe I had a very small sliver of something to do with it more than likely not but I think that one power was a barely a sliver of a factor in whether the teamed survived or not. I dont team much on none of my tanks so maybe it's only a matter of time before a wipe whethere it be this WP or all the way down to the fire tank. But outside of my tanks, been on teams that had tanks of all versions that wiped.

But this here thread is about stalkers not tanks. Spines/WP, Spines/DA, Spines/ELA and the likes. Anything you would like to add on that aspect?

I'll jump in, I have a fantastic Spines/DA stalker. Love the set, love the interactions there. You get Cloak of Fear to stack with Assassination's fear.

But what I like most about it is the defense I've been able to stack on top of the resistance. Think of it this way, resistance effectively multiplies how many hit points you have. Defense multiples how many hit points you have again.

Trying to build characters without defense toggles is like trying to fight with one hand behind your back. Maybe you can work without it, but you'd do far better to actually use it.

Yea been eyeballing that fear power. looks like very good stuff and good mezz for mobs that take more than one shot of fear to kick in with the new fear thing that goes with AS.

Off-topic, but I took Mu Mastery for theme on my Elec/Nin, grabbing Mu Bolts and Ball Lightning. I like it, although it'll be nicer when I can color it - right now I left the primary alone so they match.

Mu mastery is good too. I tried it on the second build slot of my stalker.

That's not a bad idea. If I play the character further I may go that way or with Weapon Mastery.
