There's some third party apps that can tally up the amount of liquid influence you have on your characters. Not sure if there's something similar for market slots, but I'd guess not. Excel (and pretty colors) works for me.
I believe if you go under powers=> combat attributes => base => towards the bottom you can see your inf and right click and hit monitor inf. it will bring up a small window showing you what you have and will update as you kill stuff..
Im not sure about globally for toons.

That's what I do and it's 'good enough'. I don't update it every time I play a character - a few million inf more or less doesn't matter. I update it when there is a major change, like when a toon gets into the 30's and it's time to IO their entire build.

If you use Titan Sentinel and get a City Info Tracker account, it will total up all the influence on your account (once all your characters are listed on the site, anyway).
