Mechanics Question / stealth IOs and aggro

Forgive my ignorance if this is a really stupid question.

Am I correct in remembering that stealth reduces threat generated? If I am, is this just certain stealth powers, or inherint to all stealth effects? By all I mean, including stealth travel IO globals.

Beast Mastery pets can take Runspeed IOs, and I figured if the aggro thing applies, that might be marginally helpful to a tankermind, trying to hold the aggro off his/her pets.

Would this work?

Thank-you kindly for any answers.

Only certain stealth powers decrease threat level. For instance, Group Invisibility doesn't, but Superior Invisibility does. I don't know whether or not the stealth IO would, but I'd guess no.

Thank-you for the information, Mad Grim. This is what I get from going off fuzzy memories of late night forum reading. =)

If anyone else reading this can confirm about the stealth IOs, please do. Thank-you!

That would be my understanding as well. And is backed up by Mids which displays your total threat level (View Totals>>Misc Buffs). On my SR scrapper toggling on Super Speed causes my threat level to go from 300% to 200%, removing or adding the Celerity +stealth IO in SS has no effect on Threat but does effect my PvE and PvP stealth values. It is also among the effects listed under Super Speed's Data View (-100% threat).

As I recall your current Threat Level is also displayed by Combat Attributes in game (and I would guess any modifiers to it are also indicated but I can't check that out currently).

Doomguide

Edit: I don't recall any IO's which effect Threat, only powers.

The stealth IOs do NOT affect Threat level. A power has to be specifically flagged to do that, and those IOs do not grant that flag.

You can monitor both stealth radius and threat level with "real numbers" in game. It will let you know when you stealth suppresses and unsuppresses which can also be quite helpful.

Group Invisibility does reduced threat level and, unlike Superior Invisibility or Super Speed, its reduction in threat level does not suppress.

Weird, in my stats it shows it not reducing threat level.
