Specifically, you get that upon completing tier 7, which means 27 reward tokens. Below that, you can buy an invention license to get invention drops for 30 days at a time.

iirc you can buy 15 bucks of points and it'll cover your IO license for 8 months. of course if you're not high enough for the auction house to be unlocked you're looking at 4 months of both for 15. i guess it's conceivable to have the former without the latter but i'd imagine it'd be painful.

Right, an Invention license is $2 per month (160 points), and an Auction House license is also $2 per month. So you could add those things to your account for $4 per month. Note that you have to buy like either $5 or $15 points at a time. The $15 amount gives you bonus points, so it's more efficient if you can afford that much at one time.

Or you can play the game totally free on just the regular enhancements, like we all did when the game first came out.
