Any ETA on alternate ways to get Hybrid xp?

Not arguing with you. It's not like we didn't try to change their minds.

The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.

When Mag was the only way to unlock hybrid on Beta I assumed that was to just keep people from buying up the xp and not testing the new trial. When it went live like that, it pissed me off more than anything has since they started selling enhancements for rl money. I stopped being as mad about it when I saw how popular Mag farms were, but the cleverness of the players shouldn't really excuse poor choices that the devs made, even if players come up with great workarounds.

Farms as a workaround has been in the incarnate system since Lambda. Clear streets and turrets, quit, rinse, repeat. The upfront mob was very likely completely by design. if they hadn't intended it to be farmable it could've been like MoM, lots of AV phases with gimmicks.

I highly doubt it has ever been said in the meeting room that something should be designed in such a way so the player base can farm it. It may seem that way sometimes(ssk change) but I really don't see them designing farming features.

Specifically farmed? No, but they realize it's one of the few ways to earn the XP so dumping a boatload of mobs at players was likely a key designed feature of the trial.

Having one path, as opposed to having 3 or more like last time, isn't exactly the same thing. Granted, you did say, 'nearly identical' but I'd say that it isn't even close to identical, but I admit that that could be a problem of terminology.

Edit: I can see from the rest of Hopeling's post that we mostly agree on this topic, so I hope you'll not take my quibble on this matter as general disagreement.

I'd be much happier with at least having 2 iTrials to choose from to earn aPsyXP. Or being able to use threads to buy aPsyXP, or some other alternative. It's the only one path that irks me most.

Well, it wasn't in the initial patch notes, but now:

I've also decided to add a large Psychic IXP bonus to the two Challenge badges in the i24 Incarnate Arc - each badge will unlock about 10% of your Hybrid slot. I think this keeps with the Incarnate mantra of "High difficulty, high rewards", as well as provides solo players with a quick boost towards their Hybrid slot for doing cool things.
Yay.
