So glad I bought the Sinister set last week.
Damn.
The gloves and boots alone are worth the price.

It depends a lot on your character and powersets. AoE heavy ranged characters often have 6.25% recharge bonuses coming out of their ears (my AR/Dev Blaster has five of them without slotting a single Decimation set). Additionally Ranged Defense bonuses tend to be the 6-slot bonus and in the case of my attacks I'll pretty much be 5 or 6 slotting them anyway. Non-attack powers on the other hand are more likely to only need 5 or 6 slots for the set bonuses so a lot of the time Thunderstrikes are a more slot efficient way of boosting my defense.

Just speaking personally, I find Recharge Bonuses a lot harder to find than Ranged/Energy/Neg Energy defense. If Decimation went up to 50, I don't think I'd ever slot another enhancement set in my ranged attacks at all, except in very rare circumstances where I need to boost up my ranged defense and can't find other sets to do the job. |

SSA 2.1 was pretty amazing... can't wait for 2.2
Also was a bit predictable nothing very special would be on market 1 week after water blast (and I think I got bats aura from halloween event ).
I unlocked the Bats aura on a few characters durin' the Halloween event, and went to purchase it yesterday, but received an error along the lines o' "you cannot complete this purchase as you may have already bought it".
A friend o' mine also attempted to purchase it while logged on a character that most definitely did not unlock it as it hadn't exist until recently, and he received the same error.
Anyone else get an error tryin' to buy the bats aura?

The Bats aura was included in the Halloween costume bundle pack so if you bought it at halloween you have it, I think what everyone is thinking of is the Murder of Crows costume change that had to be unlocked per character running the halloween trial it couldn't be bought.
Cancel the kitchen scraps for widows and lepers, no more merciful beheadings and call off christmas!

I don't know if this issue has been raised before...but in real life when I see at item "on sale" - I don't necessarily purchase the item for immediate use now - but because I may need the item at a point in the future or even give the item as a gift to someone else. As it is, it appears that the ranged items currently "on sale" are character locked!!!
Why not make these items such that you can buy them now (while on sale) and then later on during the year give them to toons that you create, even if on a different account??
Don't know if I'm missing something here or not, but as it is I feel as though I'm not really totally benefiting from the "on sale" sale!

Last I checked they're not character locked. They are account bound though.
Basically, you make the purchase and then redeem them (individually if you purchase the set) via the Character Items tab in your in-game e-mail.
This does not mean that they can only be redeemed by the character you purchased them with, it just means that once a character redeems it, it will be gone.
Unlike items under the Account Items tab that can be redeemed by every single character you create (usually items earned through Paragon Rewards like the Reveal temp power for example).
