Something Fast?
Plant/Fire/Fire Dom is a good choice.
Rad/Fire/Fire Mace blaster would also be good with the caveat that the powers do not animate fast but the damage output is huge (in melee range focused on PBAoE powers).
I'd also give a Mind/Ice/Fire Dom a decent rating.

Try a Street Justice Scrapper; all the attacks animate quickly, it has good damage and really, who doesn't love kicking the bad guys in the nuts?
My StJ/Inv scrapper was among the most fun characters I've played to 50.

Thanks for the replies folks.
I've taken DP/Rad to 47 and it's waiting on those animation changes. I have fingers firmly crossed. I really do like DP, and it works well with Rad. It's no screamingly fast, but it's fun to play.
Also done a StJ/Invuln tank to 50 which was possibly a mistake as I felt tough as old boots, but underwhelmed by the damage. That's the point of a Tanker though eh? Not sure I could repeat it on a scrapper unless general thoughts are that it would play much more damaging. Maybe StJ/somethingelse?
I think anything/fire blasters would drive me mental. I took Fire/Fire to 50 pre-IOs and deleted it (yet another mistake) and I think they lengthened FSC at some point. Combustion makes me want to sob though. I think /Fire is my least favourite blaster secondary.
Plant/Fire/Fire dom though... My Plant/Poison controller is 46 and about to be deleted so this might free up the concept.
Thanks again for taking the time to reply.

Any Fire Blast set, though non-Blasters are actually faster than Blasters because of the normalized Fire Blast being 1.67s instead of the original 1.2s. Melee Widows. Any Kinetic Melee Stalker.
The Plant/Fire Dom option is good. The ST Hold is slow though. If that's an issue... Fire and Mind have the fastest ST Holds for a ST attack chain.

Fire Blast for a blaster/corruptor/defender, it's a fast set and high damage. The plant/fire dom is good too, that's what I'm working on right now and there's little buff/debuff involved, just hold/immobilize/confuse and damage, very straightforward. And if you kind of like your MA but want faster attacks, I'd second (or third) the Street Justice vote... works VERY well on a stalker too.
And Melee Widows yes, they have a bunch of very fast attacks.
I haven't tried a Kin Melee Stalker, I know they're powerful, but Kin Melee on s brute or scrapper "feels" slow so that doesn't get my vote.

Looking at Mids' and comparing the very similar IO builds between my DB/WP scrapper and my WP/DB tank, with the favorite DB attack chain of Blinding Feint => Attack Vitals:
Scrapper: base damage (before Incarnate-y goodness) of 440 for Blinding Feint, 348 for Ablating Strike, 625 for Vengeful Slice, 391 for Sweeping Strike.
Tank: 222 Blinding Feint, 176 Ablating Strike, 313 Vengeful Slice, 189 Sweeping Strike.
I'm not sure about how you define "much more damaging" but that looks to be about double the damage right there. Start adding bonuses for things like Alpha Musculature when needed [+33% to a big number is more than +33% of a small number], and most scrappers can make spawns melt away a LOT faster than most tanks can hope to.
Your mileage with other powersets may vary, no numbers were harmed in the making of this post, etc.

Negaduck: I see you found the crumb. I knew you'd never notice the huge flag.
I'd recommend fire/fire brute - but getting to 28 for burn isn't incredibly fast. But! Once you get it, you'll likely reach 50 in less time than it took you to get to 28.

Hi all,
I've just taken my Energy/Energy blaster to 50 and had a blast! (pun intended). However, now all my toons feel slow by comparison.
So I'm looking for something else to entertain me to 50.
I want to try and fly through spawns. Safety is optional (if it can be countered by skill) but the main requirement would be fast animating attacks that do a reasonable amount of damage. I don't want to mess about holding stuff, confusing stuff, or any other sort of mez, I just want to kill stuff fast.
Likewise, I don't want set up times with laying down buffs/debuffs (Traps/Kin/Rad/Dark etc) or weapon redraw. Smashy visuals would be nice, but optional.
In my mind, I'm thinking I'm left with another blaster of some sort, an offensive Cor/Def, or a Scrapper/Brute/Stalker (I may consider the small pause of AS acceptable).
Currently working on an MA/EA scrapper & a Fire/Shield brute but they feel a little "lumbering" compared to the nimble blaster.
Also working on a Storm/Energy Defender idea, but that's just on paper at the moment.
Anyone have any tips?
Appreciated!
