New -KB IO.. how are we supposed to acquire it ?
with the new -KB IO that is coming out with the Summer Events I was wondering how are we supposed to acquire it. Is it from running the new events? Can you buy it with some of the various Merits we have in the game (Astral, Hero, Reward) or will it just be a random drop. Is it a rare IO set or something more in the line of a rare ?? Is it unique ? Can you only slot it in one power ( which would suck for my Nrg Blaster )
Any heads up info from those with experience from Beta testing would be appreciated. Thanks in advance |
There's no option to buy it with merits that I'm aware of, but it's tradable on the Auction House.
So yeah, I'm glad for the chance to kill some of the knockback in my characters' powers (Solar Flare, Gale), but... well, I hope there's more coming that just hasn't been announced.
Check out this recent thread that already exists in Player Questions.
In the thread many of the questions are answered as well as quotes from a thread in City Life and a link to that thread where most of this has already been discussed with red name responses.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
Black Pebble is my new hero.
Thanks.....
Very disappointed to see that the -kb proc will be a unique and it wont be global either... This would have totally changed my signature toon..oh well back to hover blasting....

Since knockback is a fundamental -- perhaps THE fundamental -- superhero effect, it never seemed likely it would be entirely eliminated from the game. This compromise may be less than you hoped for, but it does have some utility.

Well, this looks like a compromise between the pro-knockback and the elminiate-all-knockback factions. You can eliminate knockback in one key area, but it won't disappear from the game.

It's also a balance between the devs giving us KD instead of KB, and the devs seeing KD worth more than KB in most instances.

Will the IO guarantee KD or will it work like other powers with KD where with lower levels or someone with low KB resist it will still turn into KB?
It reduces a power's knockback strength by 99%, which effectively means "always be knockdown". It also reduces knockup by 99%, which means the dude won't fly very high up when knocked.
