Receive Buffs without FX
I wouldn't mind such a feature. Some people choose the ugliest colors for their buffs and I am running around with a pink block of ice, green/yellow/purple/red flames...bright yellow sonic shields...and neon pink bubbles...
When it gets to that point I totally feel like I am not even playing my character.
I am just some mixture of god awful colors running around shooting at things.
the amount of fx in general is way to high, especially at the end game.
Jay Doherty: Yes, there was this one night that I was ready to go home but had to drop the browns off at the super bowl before I left for home. While on the throne it hit me. I stayed for a few more hours and that why we have the pain pads in the game.

Thank god I can grief them back by cancelling the buffs.
Sometimes I just can not stand to team with players who turn you into a block of ice or set you on fire for the whole mission, etc...

I know you don't mean that personally, though. I hope. =P
Those SFX are why I won't even throw Winterblack's ice armor on the team unless the content seems rough. I think I hate it, too. It'd be easier to not do if the buffs were less helpful. I would be sad if all my costumes were ice-people. A nice frosty aura would be a great alternative visual.
On the plus side, it makes it easy to spot my minions...er, teammates...in a crowd.

You know I always team with you when you're on Winter.
I think it's high time "suppress player effects" actually started suppressing player effects. You know, as opposed to doing nothing as it is now. Give it a few options:
1. Suppress effects from players not on my team and not affecting me or my team-mates.
2. Suppress effects from players not on my team and not affecting me.
3. Suppress effects from players not on my team.
4. Suppress effects from other players not affecting me.
5. Suppress effects from other players entirely.
Problem solved.

If you mean suppress the GFX that one sees on one's own toon, then that is working very well (with the exception of a few of the GFX of the newer powersets that haven't been flagged to suppress yet... looking at you, Time).
And yes, there are too many GFX. Minor buffs still have huge honking flashy GFX, and that should be removed completely (looking at you Damage, Resistance, and Acc buffs and debuffs... who doesn't have them and why bother showing it when it could be anywhere from 1% to 300% effect... meaningless!). And yes, there could be much better controls to select what GFX one sees and doesn't see.
But suppressing personal GFX works very well. Suppressing Personal GFX: /suppressCloseFx

I get annoyed with this too. I love the costume creator in this game and usually spend ages tinkering with my lastest creation. 1st team im in I get 2 ice buffs, that 'ready-brek' sonic buff and couple of garish fire buffs shoved on me. I cant see myself let alone my snazzy new costume. If it wasnt for the camera angle I wouldnt even know which way im facing.
I can understand the buffers wanting the visuals to remain though. As a regular buffer myself, I rely on the visuals to know if all my buffs are working and if they need redoing. you can look on the buff lists next to the team bars, but I often find them difficult to see or to diffirenciate between certain buffs of a similar type. On leagues their isnt any buff lists, so I have to guess of concentrate all my buffs onto one group or person (such as only casting fortitude on blasters etc).
On a related topic, the buff for kins is too damn loud!
Rockshock (Druid Tanker), Medicat (Combat Medic), Dwarf From the North (Ice Mage), Rocket Gal (Energy Blaster), Graveborn (Undead Mastermind), Streeker (Punching Speedster), Op. Sidewinder (Recluse's pet Spider)

I know this has been suggested many times.
Give us the option to receive buffs without the associated FX.
The buffs themselves are great for the team...however, the related FX that comes with them is ridiculous.
Sometimes I just can not stand to team with players who turn you into a block of ice or set you on fire for the whole mission, etc...
Was this an intended "drawback" for the sets. Were they designed as great buffs...but your team is forced to deal with the FX?
I understand that I can visit Null the Gull or just cancel the buffs themselves.
My point is that I want the buffs...I want the players who choose these powersets to still be as useful as they are...I just don't want the FX that comes with it.
