Hey, few questions I've been wondering since reactivating...

What Incarnate options have been released? I know Hybrid is the newest, but I'm not sure if I missed anything else between there.
Follow up: How do you unlock Incarnate?

I know there was once an option to save a costume, but now I can't see it... Help?

Is there a post detailing the upcoming Water blaster powerset? I'm super curious.

I know Water is on Test now - Any ETA as to when it will be live?

Thank you.

Thanks for eight fun years, Paragon.

Oh, also, can someone give me a breakdown of the Archetype-specific enhancements? Are they always a better option?

Thanks.

First, welcome back...

There are 5 previous Incarnate slots.
Best place for many of the details is in the Wiki.
http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Incarnate_System
Easiest way to unlock the Alpha is the Mender Ramiel short arc available in Ouroborous. Easiest way to unlock the other 4, run iTrials. You can also just skip the Mender Ramiel's arc, and go strait to iTrial to unlock al the first 5, but I wouldn't recommend this to you. They can all 5 be unlocked via the Dark Astoria new Incarnate level content/story arcs/street sweeping even. This path is a good deal slower, but completely solo-able.

Save a costume option is still there, but you have to be in either the character creator (in which case it is under the Costume tab, then in the lower right) or in Tailor mode. In Tailor mode I think again you'll choose the Costume Tab, but it will look some different than the Creator, obviously, since you won't have as many Tabs to choose from. But I am pretty sure it's again in the lower right. One note about Tailor mode now, you can access it at any trainer. No more runs to a costume shop.

Several that I've seen. Try under the Archetypes and Powers general discussion and maybe under the specific ATs that will be getting Water Blast.

No ETA has been officially announced as far as I know. Speculation is sometime this summer, though. But, speculation is just guesses with varying degrees of 'educated' in front of them.

And as for Archetype Enhancements.... Well, first, here...
http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/ATE
And no, they aren't always the better option. And even when they might be the better option, it's up for debate if it's always better to keep them together or break a set up. Like so many things in CoH, there isn't one right answer. If someone tells you there is only one right answer chances are pretty good that you just managed to find a wrong one, not *the* right one.

www.paragonwiki.com is a great resource. It's probably more complete than me. I'm going off the top of my head.

Incarnate content is VIP only.

Incarnate advantages released so far is Alpha, Lore, Destiny, Interface, Judgement and Hybrid.

Alpha can be unlocked through Mender Ramiel in Ouroboros. The Lore, Destiny, Interface and Judgement can be unlocked by Incarnate XP, gained through the Incarnate Trials.

You can use one characters resources to unlock stuff on others. Speak to the Incarnate vendors in Ouroboros.

Hybrid is unlocked by the Magesterium Trial. To participate in that, you must have your Lore and Destiny slots unlocked.

Additional unlocking is available using Incarnate components. For example you can progress a slot by 3% by burning an Incarnate Thread, but not Hybrid.

Edit: Madadh, you ninja'ed me! That is acceptable.

www.paragonwiki.com is a great source of information for this game.

For ATO's it usually depends on what AT and powersets you are playing. There is two ATO versions orange ones can be bought from AH or from various merit vendors found in the game as well as they have a chance to drop from super packs that you can buy from paragon store or with reward merits as a tier 9 repeatable (I think they made it tier 9 VIP repeatable with last update)

To get purple ones you need catalysts, you can get catalysts from merit vendors or have them drop at incarnate content (Dark Astoria and itirals) and orange version of ATO, you upgrade orange to purple which makes it account-bound and can't be tradable by any means (you can only send it to yourself via email)

Orange ones are not that great but they are usable. You can slot them at a lower level and they increase efficiency with level so a good choice for a level 10 and helps leveling. Once you are 50 you can convert your ATO's to purple ones for better bonuses and set bonuses. Also by using enhacement converters you can get an ATO that fits to your AT with a little luck.

For melee AT's they are almost like a god send since each gives recharge bonus, certain defense bonuses and damage bonus as global set bonuses in addition to a few good others like max hp regen etc. Also among procs most useful ones are at melee AT's so even if you don't plan to get full sets you should at least consider getting ATO proc.

For other AT's I don't really know much but it seems neither bonuses nor procs make that much differences.

Unfortunately not. You can currently only receive an Enhancement Catalyst by either having one drop from a Super Pack, or as a random very rare drop during Incarnate content, as you mention -- but not from any Merit Vendors as far as I can see either in-game or via the wiki (perhaps you're thinking of Enhancement Converters there).

You can check your Incarnate options by going to your tray, click on Powers, then above the window that comes up (on the "frame" part of the window), there's Attributes Monitor and Incarnate Abilities. Click on the latter, and browse the Create tab.

The wiki works too but the Incarnate Abilities window is your go-to source when in game.

Mender Ramiel in Ouroboros is your best bet. As mentioned, just grinding iXP or buying an unlock (in game, not real money) are possible, but the mission is fun if you are new.

Go to a tailor (new feature: all trainers are now tailors. Go to Ms. Liberty in Atlas and ask her to adjust your costume). Below your "doll" in the costume menu there's a Save and a Load button. Click Save.

But for most, it's faster to run Ramiel than run iTrials for Alpha.

As of yesterday, mine still showed as t9 repeatable, not t9VIP.

While all of this is true, if he's never done any incarnate content, he won't have astrals to spend, I don't think.

If I'm wrong, he maybe able to hit 50, and then run the SSA stories and select the Astral Merit reward that way. I can't test this myself, because as soon as an alt hit's 50, I run the Mender Ramiel Arc. I am pretty sure you can have Astrals before you have an slot unlocked, as a result of running 1 iTrial, but I can't test this theory out either. I guess you could run iTrials and get Astrals and then spend them to unlock the Alpha, but I suspect you'd be very close to having the Alpha unlocked by the time you earned the 5 Astrals in an iTrial. Again, I can't test any of this, though, so it's all speculation.

He's referring to ANOTHER character (who HAS done Incarnate content) paying Astrals to send an unlock voucher to the 50 in question that unlocks the Alpha slot.

Heh. I actually caused a lot of confusion unintentionally. When I put "How do I unlock Incarnate?" that was only because I'd said "Incarnate" too much and had it on my brain. I meant, "How do I unlock the Hybrid slot?"

As for ATOs, is it worth respeccing a completely set IO'd character to get a set in? Either orange or purple?

Thanks again.

Thanks for eight fun years, Paragon.

The only way to unlock the Hybrid slot is to run Magisterium Trial. You'll often find people running just the first part of it and quitting for this reason.

I kind of assumed that wasn't really an option since he was asking how to unlock an incarnate slot.. I guess he could have unlocked one and forgot how, since he's been away, but I assumed otherwise. Which goes to show, you shouldn't assume, because, as it turns out, my assumption was WAY off base......

Ah, now I see the confusion.. I assumed that since you asked (in error I find out now) how to unlock Incarnate, that it was unlikely that you had an Incanate character on hand with Astrals to spend.. If I had known you was talking about Hybrid... Well, I'd still not have mentioned that 'buy with astrals' method, because there isn't a way to unlock Hybrid.... OK. Now I'm sorta confused.... As long as the OP isn't any more, tho....

Magisterium iTrial is the only way, at present.

Ah!! So I see. I had assumed that since he asked (in error I dind out now) how to unlock Incarnate, that it was unlikely that had had an Incanate character. As to the ATE sets.... I probably wouldn't respec just to add those in. But I am lazy, and dislike to respec. That aside, however, I doubt there will be many places where the ATE will gain ya a ton. Stalkers, for sure, but that's partly on account of the other stalker chances, too, not just the ATEs. I might be tempted to use an Enhancement Unslotter or two and try to just Squeeze in the Brutes ATE Proc, and maybe the Tankers ATE proc, but taht would depend on the tank. Last I heard, the Scrapps was meh. The defenders is nice you've got a top in solo def but no self heal.. So, very situational.... The rest I can't speak to in any detail, but it'd have to be pretty freaking amazing for me to muck up a build to shoehorn in an extra proc, and beyond amazing to totally respec. And I didn't see anything that amazing.

To me, this is not a simple yes/no question -- it really depends on the existing set you'd be swapping out (as it compares to the ATO set) as well as the overall structure and philosophy of your build.

It really has to be answered on a specific case by case basis, so posting specifics into the appropriate AT forum would probably yield the best information.

On second thought, I don't like my answer as much as this one.

One big thing to note about the ATO sets - each one has a 8.75% (or so) Global Recharge bonus in the standard set. This goes to a standard purple recharge bonus if you make it superior.
