Hello everyone! I am Big Soto and I am having an online costume contest. We are in the process of opening a new super group named C.A.S.T.L.E. on Virtue and we do not have a super group costume designed yet. This is where you guys/gals come in. I thought it would be a great idea to have a costume contest and see what everyone comes up with and I am buying the rights for the costume design for $500,000,000 influence. We will vote on our favorite costume design concept for the super group. Of course there will be some rules.

Rules

  • All costume pieces must be available to all players.
  • You must submit a male and female version of each costume.
  • Each member can submit no more than two different costume designs.
  • The first costume must fit the super group’s theme and must be free pieces.
  • The second costume you can create anything you want. You can even use purchasable pieces. **edited**
  • The super group chest symbol is the Rook.
  • You will have creative freedom for your design even to include SG colors.
  • We are very patriotic; however we are not against red, white and blue colors for a SG costume, but please, please do not feel that you are limited to those colors only.
  • All submissions must be entered by June 28th at 12 pm EST.
  • The winner will be announced July 1st around 12 pm EST.
  • All costumes will be posted on this thread and please do not submit in a PM

Brief super group history
We were a group of human that was secretly funded by the government. We were established after the 2002 Rikti invasion. Recently the members of the council made a request to the government to allow the recruitment of super powered individuals and the request was denied. The council then decided to separated from the government and recruit any worthy member to help the fight against all evil doers that might hinder anyone’s life, liberty, and he pursuit of happiness.

Theme
We are modern knight’s costume with tech. Think of us as a mix of Medieval Knights and S.H.I.E.L.D. with advance Tech.

I have to say, I love this idea (and the idea of someone's supergroup running around in something I came up with). I've got some ideas worked out already. Man, I never realized how many of my favorite pieces aren't available to everyone. "wow, this looks great, and -- oh, those gloves are from a booster I bought, and that texture is only free to VIPs..."

In the interest of giving myself some time to tweak, and more than that, in the interest of waiting until the last minute on purpose like bidding on an eBay auction, I won't be posting mine until the last minute, like bidding on an eBay auction.


FUN FACT: That burst of light when you level up is actually the effectiveness escaping from your enhancements all at once.

~raises hand~ Question! When you say available to every one... does this include buy-able pieces (I.E. Items from the Magic set or Gunslinger set) or do you mean only the pieces that are SWAG?

I really want the SG uniform to be available to everyone and I do not want to ask members to purchase a costume piece just to wear our uniform; however I can change the rules to include every purchasable piece for the second costume option. I will edit the rules now.

Here are my Entries in both Cases the rectile is meant to be optional I wanted to leave the head alone to give your SG members the ability to wear the SG uniform but keep some individuality
in that same vein the second set is set up such that people could swap out the chest and pants options a bit (I.E. use the armored version of the medieval armor)

A question for Big_Soto... You state that the second design can use purchasable pieces. Ok. Now, Xenophage's top uniform has Tech Sleek Armor. That is only really purchasable by buying 9 reward tokens (over $100). Is that ok too? Can we use reward tree costume sets? How about tier 9?

Well, I'm not one of the miracle workers of the costume creator, but I'll give it a shot.

This first set isn't amazing, but I am 99% certain that it contains nothing that a Free Player wouldn't have access to:



This next one requires a lot of purchased pieces... and didn't get the Rook symbol in the chest. (Um... oops?) Still, I think it looks nice. I probably should have added some kind of pattern on the chainmail, though...



So, nothing amazing, but I hope you find them at least acceptable.

Just going to go with one set of entries for my part. Don't like the idea of requiring anyone to obtain pieces out of dress code compliance. These were created from a Freem account so the pieces should be universally accessible. Didn't intend to go the red-white-blue route but guess it ended up there anyway lol. Would envision Head and Belt options left non-specific for individual preference / customization / individualization.

I agree with avoiding paid or tiered pieces so I will submit one set as well also created from a Freem account so as to insure total access to all pieces. I went with a more "recruited Supers from a Civilian existence" standpoint for these.



Ditto on the kudos, the contest is a great community event for an excellent SG concept.

Guess I will follow suit and stick to one entry set with global access pieces. Tried to stay in the "modern Tech-Knight" theme. Also tried to retain individualization opportunities with the Head options.

you know when i chose the tech sleek i didn't realize it needed reward tokens (as I had it before the token system was ever implemented) and have a hell of a time remembering what was Free what is token (formerly vet reward) and what is Free to VIP only. I kinda only remember if i had to buy it or use tokens to get it, so that said I guess that means my costume with the tech sleek is disqualified and I only have one costume to enter LOL...

Yes, but they will be available to purchase at some point. (I was honestly surprised they weren't released yesterday. Here I was certain that Retro Sci-Fi would be released next month...)

Oh well. At least the Free costume should still work.

No reward costume pieces please, but you can use purchasable pieces for the second costume.

Just one question.


It's ok to submit a costume with and without the symbol (and so with anhoter chest detail), or does it count as two costumes?

Here's my take on the modern / medieval theme or tech / knight if you prefer. As with the rest of the clan, all pieces from the universal collection so should be availble to all. Added a slight variation with skirt for females and headwear for males.

Hi,
these are my entries.

The costumes are more on the tech side than 'knight', but I think that trying to go too much medieval doesn't fit a government group that went rogue (I though of something more in the line of Morrison's X-men).

Male and Female costumes slightly different on purpose; more heavy duty the male, more stealth the female.

I thought the first costume as a day-by-day uniform, the second more as a spec ops suit.
