50% Shared XP Booster Bugged?

A friend of mine gave two of my Heroes a 50% Shared XP Booster right before I logged off, the xp icon was active under my health/endurance bar... But when I logged in the following night neither character had the XP Booster icon active, it wasn't even in my Powers tab and all XP gained was normal.

How do I get this back or what do I do to fix this?

They last for X *REAL TIME*, so you want to use them at the start of your play time, not the end.

This IS a bug. It clearly states in the description in the shop: ".....one hour of in-game time". Right in the first sentence. Then further into it: "...can be cast on an ally (that lasts for one hour of in-game time)..."

Iiiiinteresting. Definitely /bug it then! I have never had it last through logouts.

Reading is fundamental! Apparently I missed it several times.

We were unable to reproduce this with all variations of the power. De_monique, if you (or anyone else) have info on how you got the power to expire in real time instead of in-game time, please post the steps here or feel free to PM me.

Thanks, much appreciated!

There used to be a number of ways that your character would stay "online", even after you had logged off, and this would cause things with in-game timers to keep counting down in real time. To my knowledge, most of them have been fixed, but on occasion, I see someone on my global friends list marked in green with a character name, but dimmed out as if they were on a different server with no server name listed - a sure sign that they aren't logged in, but are still being counted as logged in.

Was there anything out of the ordinary about how you logged out?
-Did you mapserve or crash, and just stay logged out instead of logging in and back out properly?
-Were you in Flashback/TF/AE mode? This used to cause the effect I mentioned above; not sure if it still does.

When you logged in, did you get the "This account is already logged in." message?

Does anyone else have access to your account?

That seems to happen when logging out while still in a mission. I have no idea if it doing so affects the xp booster in any way though.

It also commonly happens when you log out while on a team.

Fire Man, eh? A fellow Aberrant player, perhaps?

One thing that did happen last night. And it was something that happened to two pairs of folks in the group I was in. So, it was repeatable.

If the person that the shared boost is being shared with (The 'target' of the boost power. Not the person that purchased it) uses any transport power that turns off thier toggles (In our case it was panther and flying carpet) they loose the XP boost when the travel power is activated and it doesnt return when the power is deactivated.

And another 'sharie' lost thier boost when they died in an AE mission

I logged out like I normally would. There isn't anything that I did out of the ordinary. I /bugged it online and petitioned it but have yet to hear a response to correcting this error. Other than receiving a confirmation email that support received my petition but nothing more.

I'm hoping that this bug is corrected because to be honest thats a lot of PP to be wasting as well as money for those that are purchasing points just to get the Shared XP Boosters.

Like Shadowe, I have always seen this happen when a friend logs off while still part of a team. It's fixed only when they log in with a different character.

Where to find me after the end:
The Secret World - Arcadia - Shinzo
Rift - Faeblight - Bloodspeaker
LotRO - Gladden - Aranelion
STO - Holodeck - @Captain_Thiraas

Obviously, I don't care about NCSoft's forum rules, now.

This would be on a Task Force/Strike Force team, correct?

That's a good question. Haven't noticed whether it was a team that specifically engaged in a TF, or if this happened to a normal mission team. It doesn't happen as often any more, but I believe it has been just run-of-the-mill mission teams.

Edit: And just to be perfectly clear, I'm refering specifically to the "character seems to still be logged on after player logs off" bug. I've never encountered the "something ate my xp booster" bug.

No. If you're on a regular team and log of while inside an instanced mission, to your global friends that character will still appear as if they are online. The only exception is that if you expand your global list, the Server will appear blank.

Has there been any progress with the reproduction of this bug that happens with the shared xp power or has it made it to the known issues list yet?
