After years of playing and having my name sake on the shelf, I have decided to bring Big Soto (My tank) out of retirement. I spent some time trying to figure out what I want to do with him and I was able to soft cap my Smash, Lethal, Fire, and Cold Defense and max out my S/L resist. I have had great success in the past posting my builds and people giving great advise. List below is my build I am thinking of using and please let me know what I need to change. You should be able to make that character 45% s/l/e/n/f/c one way or another. That's what I would do.

With 5 targets Invincibility will bump my En/Neg up to 46.1. Anything less than that I should not be worried, but I will see what I can do without hurting my attacks. thanks for the in put.

As for the Incarnates I will be getting Agility Core Paragon (End, Recharge, and Defense) for my alpha. I was thinking of getting Degenerative Core Flawless Interface for the -Max HP proc (75%) and minor toxic DoT proc (25%). I think it will help the team if I am using AoE's to decrease the HP of the targets to help them kill quicker. I want to get the Storm Elemental Radial Support for the O2 Boost that heals and end drain protection. As for my Destiny I will be getting Ageless Core Epiphany for the + End, +Recharge and Recovery. Are these good choices or not?

Dig the build.

As far as Interface goes, hit the opposite tree. You'll be attacking so much that the 25% chance for -Max HP will be firing nonstop, really. You'll want more DoT.

Thanx!! ... And that makes sense since we can stack the debuff up to 4 times per target.

I just seen someone's build that had S/L/F/C/E/N and even Psi defense at soft cap... Gonna do some work on my build tonight and see what I can do to make my build better.

Energy damage is *much* more common than either Fire or Cold, so you should concentrate on that after getting S/L to the soft-cap. I'd replace the current sets in your two AoEs with a combination of Eradication plus a couple of other IOs for end reduction. I'd also slot Reactive Armor sets in UY and TI, and use 3 Aegis RPD if you can find the slots. I also noted that you have endurance reduction slotted in some of the passives, which makes no sense at all.

Here's a q&d revision of your build, one that essentially replaces your emphasis on F/C with E/NE. It has 46% S/L/E/NE and 40% F/C def with one in range of Invinc. There's undoubtedly a way to get F/C soft-capped as well, though you'd probably have to use different epic attack choices to get there.

I made some slight changes and soft capped all defense except psi, upped my recharge to 86.25% and HP by 43 points to make it now 2501hp and using Dull pain that is perma will give me 3534hp. I also upped my damage by 5% but it is so slight its almost not worth mentioning. Tell me whatcha think...

Some changes I'd recommend to your most recently posted build:

Most of the benefit of the fifth slot in Invinc is being lost to ED. Drop the LotG Def/Rchg from Invinc, move the slot to Weave, and add a LotG Def/End/Rchg. That will have the added benefit of slotting Weave adequately for end reduction.

Go back to your previous slotting for Maneuvers. (Def/End, Def/End/Rchg, LotG +Recharge) It's a high end cost toggle with a low base defense value and needs more than 27% end reduction. Another option is to use a couple of Cytoskeletons instead of the Def and Def/End IOs.

Currently Combustion is completely unslotted for end reduction and that's not good. I'd go with Eradication Damage, Acc/Dam/Rchg, Acc/Dam/Rchg/End and a Dam/End and a Acc/Dam/End from either Scirocco's Dervish or Multistrike.

I prefer Rectified Reticle for Build Up. Try the To Hit/Rchg and +Perception; you'll get a nice 1.88% S/L def bonus plus some +perception. That will allow you to drop the fourth slot from either ResEn or ResEl and have a slot to use elsewhere. IMO, a second slot in Hasten would be useful.

I like it... With the changes I am still able to keep soft cap on my type defenses and help my endurance in the process. I did lose some HP, but not a lot. Thanks a lot!!! I think that might be my final build unless someone else can work some magic...lol

Using what Finduilas did and keeping it I found 2 slots, 1 I just added to build up and 1, I added to Unstoppable. They could go anywhere really but in unstop I myself like Unstop Dur + DP Dur = Unstop Rechg

Yeah. There are ways to cap out Psi defense. But they usually compromise you in other ways. Like being so end-heavy you outstrip your recovery. And having to use things like Stealth (not a +Stealth IO, the Stealth power), which then leaves you BELOW softcap when you attack.

Okay, took Find's last build and tweaked it a bit. Defense came down a little (save in Psi). But I was able to kick up recharge to the point where you have Perma DP and Perma Hasten.

Moreover, since your regular defense were so high already, I went ahead and did something I normally don't do. Patched over the Psi hole a bit.

How often is Breath of FIre used?

If it's not that frequent, you might want to consider putting at least the +res proc in an attack that is used more often.

It will be irrelevant for your S/L since it's already capped, but it will be a nice boost for your other resistances.

I actually use it pretty often. For some reason it always seems to hit even if the target has vengeance on them. I really wish I had a damage aura that I can put that in.

I heard last night that Nemesis Vengeance doesn't provide AoE defence.

Yeah, my fire tanks run burn/fsc/combustion almost exclusively against non-AV targets, nemesis hates them.

Also, fire breath is a very rare pure fire attack. I can't stand how slow it animates, but boy, I wish....
