Have not logged into the game yet today and I have never had the problem you are describing so far. You can reorder your characters on the character select screen. Click a character and hold the left mouse button then drag the bar to another spot and release the mouse button. You can drag the bar to the left/right edges of the screen to place your character on another page. Hope this helps.
The character select screen uses a text file saved in your game directory that contains your custom character order. It is possible this file has been lost or corrupted. If this happens, it uses a default order.
However, unless I am mistaken, this text file is only read if 'Remember account name' is checked.
The file in question is playerslot.txt and is located in your install directory, in a subfolder named for your account name.

I know I can swap them back around, I was just wondering what might have caused it. It was kind of wierd to see everyone moved from where I had left them. I got a little paranoid for a minute when all my lvl 50s weren't there on the front page. Thanks for the info on the text file, I wasn't aware of that.

I think the first part of Lord Nemesis' plot was to rearrang three pages worth of characters on the select screen, as none of them are in the order that they should be. Anybody else run into this problem?
