But I think its mostly about the epic AoE powers and the ability to fit an extra purple set than increasing the ST damage.

Well, I should clarify that it is my 4th power, though it isn't in my primary ST DPS chain. You are correct about the actual attack chain (I use exactly what you posted, though sometimes I lead with MG), but when I need a 4th power (or have a runner or want to finish off someone else's mob from a distance) Dark Blast is it, and I love it. Fast recharge and solid dmg. It takes a purple set, too, btw, and lets you grab Shadow Meld.
