Statesman is one of the dead people!

That's sort of a zen spoiler when you think about it...

Did the same thing. What was especially cool was that he's also a fan of the Clone War cartoon, and Anakin is his favorite character.

I got to watch his mouth literally fall open. Then he started sputtering. I had to pause the movie to let him catch up on all the implications.

Three days later he was still talking about it. It was a very rewarding experience.

It's one of the greatest plot twists ever ruined by pop culture. It was like the 20th century version of "Arrow to the knee"

Statesman isn't responsible for the Camp Crystal killings, it's actually Alexis Cole-Duncan who's been doing them.

Statesman isn't dead at all. It was his voice on the tape telling the protagonists to 'play a game', and he's just been lying there immobile for 2 hours with his face in a pool of corn syrup.

There was absolutely nothing scary about it. I saw it in the theater when it first came out and my brother and I looked at each other like "duh...no kidding, of course you are."

Shadowmoka, you've said it twice now, I don't understand how/why you feel like pop culture killed the scene and twist in Star Wars.
I suppose only if you let pop culture ruin things for you? I'm not sure I understand!

If you've never seen a western, maybe. "Villain is the hero's father" is one of the oldest gags in the book. Even my sister, who is not a serious fan, figured it out after the first movie.
