Completely non-scientific answer:
Last night I ran all 6 DA arcs at x8 diff. In that time I received one catalyst and two purples.
I could have sworn that the catalyst drop rate was much higher on test, but I'm beginning to wonder if it was just converters that I was seeing.

Each piece of an ATO set is mutually exclusive with its Superior version.
As to the rarity of Catalysts, I don't think they've ever said. However, I'd assume they'd be as rare as purples or perhaps even rarer.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

To me, it doesn't make much sense to make them SUPER rare - they should be rare, but having them drop more often since they can't be traded might actually encourage sale of the Super Packs, or at least encourage more iTrials.

I have a variant of the OP's question. Do Catalysts drop from their own pool or do they affect the drop rates of anything else?

Hi Guys,
have run DD once and got one Purple.
I have run a few BAF's/LAMs (enough to get one alt to unlock 3 slots) and got one Catalyst and one Purple.
I have also opened 120 (5 x 24) superpacks and now have 15 Catalysts and 81 AO's. But still no Wolf lol.
I also have capped Merits and a bunch still to reclaim.
I was spending points that were just lying about unused as I am not into costumes or lots of new sets and stuff.
Maybe they have weighted the packs to drop Catalysts and AO's for now just to shift them fast?

Just wondering if anybody knows of anywhere that has a probability for dropping of catalysts(I got one on a DD run last night without even realizing it, but I need 4 more to enhance my set.)
not sure if there's a % chance to drop one or how rare they are in comparison to purple recipes.
Also a side question: if I enhance an ATO set to purple, can I slot the orange version of the set into a different power or is it still exclusive
