Statesmans Dead.(on Union)
No the Union RP view seems to favour it hasnt happened until the in game arcs and misssions reflect the change, which i think is issue23-ish. until then he is still alive, as he can be visited and spoken to in game.
Already covered. When the physical game changes occur (around I23) then it will be official (for us) and recognised.
Basically what Tef said.
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

No, he's not dead since we can a) still do his TF as he sits on his ship and b) we still have to ask him about Incarnates if we take our newly-minted 50s Alpha-unlocking.

Zombie Post!
Suddenly Statesman not dying yet has become an issue, because Nemesis is invading in a big event that will last all of may in response to the guy croaking it.
There are pretty much two options.
- Just ignore the reason for Nemesis's massive offensive
- Have Statesman die in the next couple of days.
The rest of the arc we can ignore for the moment as not being particularly newsworthy, or, not yet revealed. Unless we have any characters with strong ties to the Freedom Phalanax, it's quite reasonable no-one would know about the Malase-Psyche showdown just yet. Aside from the death of Statesman, the death of Alexis is the only other newsworthy big deal it would be silly for people not to know about publicly.
Anyway, that's all from me, continuing to play the role of the guy who thinks far too hard about encorporating in game plot into RP.

The only way I see the second option working is if we ignore a lot of the early part of WWD, and have Episode 3, where Marshall Blitz negotiates with Alexis Cole-Duncan, who is then killed happen either today or late yesterday, and then have States dying tommorrow. I'm not much of an RPer... and I have never played on Union... but I keep wondering how it is that you folks have a totally different continuity than the one that is actually going on in-game? How the heck do new folks join you if they can't reference stuff they know? Is this a closed group thing?
Just curious for the sake of curiosity as I have seen a few threads pop up recently about events and things that... well... are being ignored or whatnot.
In fact we are careful to keep to the in game situation. The whole States issue is because in Game he is still ther until i23 comes out, so new player will see him at fort trident for example. once the in game matches we make a change.
Gah! Bloody devs! *shakes fist*
Thing is, he's still IN the game, so this event MAKES NO SENSE!
Devs, sort your friggin' timeline inconsistencies out, please

Do not go gentle into that good night.

For example, when people had run the LGTF when it first came out, the Rikti War didn't just magically end. There were still very clearly Rikti around, Rikti strikes and the like.
However, when the Alpha slot stuff came out, it was moved on to the next stage. For instance, while before The Honoree had either not been present during TFs or had been teleported away. Now, with the continuation of canon, he was actually in Vanguard custody again. When DA went live, he is now working with VG, albeit still on a tight rein in case the Rikti control kicks in again.
There are also Traditionalists working with VG, the treaty got made, etc etc.
When States was removed in I23, then we were going to recognise that event as 'having happened'. As it is, well, yeah we have a bit of a pickle...

Well, most of the problem is that up until pretty recently, the world was quite static, so it wasn’t really a problem; when we did have a zone update, like the destruction of Galaxy or the second Rikti war it’s pretty easy to incorporate, as those clearly change the in game zones and once they happen… well you’re back to a new static status quo.
As a rule, individual story arcs didn’t happen, as it just doesn’t make sense of everyone to be the hero that personally helped to defeat Reichsman, or the villain that stole the blood coral.
I think right now we are just finding our feet in terms or how we adapt a more dynamic changing game world, where we have a lot of world altering events happening in instances and missions, to our shared IC continuity. Esepcially when we find a story arc, which previously was ignored, is suddenly "a thing that has happened" with significant consequences.

So, do we have a plan ? i know a few ideas were voiced in chat last night ......
I say we treat the devs spanky new event with the same level of consideration they do to the game continuity, and ignore it; at least ICly.

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
so treat it like the Zombie and rikti attacks, ie ref them IC but as a "nother round of nemesis strutting his stuff ", and not the death of Sates reasoning ?
works for me.
Indeed.
Silly DEVs. They said States would be gone now.
I recently hopped through Indie Port and found Sates still there.
*shrugs*
So he is still alive I guess?
Until I23 removes him, aye

OK.
Statesman is dead. Has he died officially for the Union RP`ers so far?
If so has there been some reaction/event I failed to notice?
Because if not I think we should try to organize a fitting send off.
Please discuss.
