Super Group Creation

I have searched the forum and found nothing.
I have found the guide on the main site which says I need to be level 10 and to go to the register in atlas park, fill in some form and my super group can be made.

But the thing is when I go to the register he will only let me view other super groups but not register. I can not work out why and was hoping to get some answers as to why I can't.

I am a lvl 19 character so it is not my lvl as the problem.
I'd understand if since it has gone free to play there is now too many super groups and they can't be made any more ... I'd just like to know why i can't do it?

Sorry if this has been asked or answered before but like I mentioned I have searched the forums and main site for some time now and found noting on it.

I believe that free and lower-rank premium players can't create supergroups, so if you've just started the game and aren't paying for a subscription, you won't be able to make one.

you actually MUST be a VIP player to interact with the sg registrar, once the sg is created you can drop to premium so long as you dont have to pay base rent

edit: hi Aett lol

yes, you must be a VIP to create one, and as long as you dont have to pay base rent you can still use your sg as a premium, if you do need to pay rent one of your members can pay the rent if they are vip

you can do that but if you don't have a VIP in the super group to pay rent when do you will not be able to enter

Right. As long as your base is small and doesn't require "rent" (paid with the in-game Inf) then you can continue to use the base, and I think earn prestige for it as well.

I'm not really up on strategies for bases for F2P folks, though I'm sure that some other people will help you out. I think no rent means that teleporters won't function. But I think any storage (salvage racks, enhancement tables, Insp holder things) will still function, which can be handy.

I don't know if you can edit a base as F2P. You'd need to do this to add more rooms or place additional storage for the base. Might be kinda difficult as F2P, but it might be doable too if you are determined enough.

Really? Past due bases can't be used at all if you are F2P? That would make it much less viable, imo.

they should be able to, its the initial sg creation step that stops most premium/free players

F2P can't join or create a SG

That's kinda what I thought. I'm pretty sure I can enter old SG bases, even though no one has paid the rent in ages. But I haven't tried recently, and I'm VIP.

So it's almost no cost to the OP if he buys VIP for one month only, but he should at least be aware that it might be possible for the base to be completely useless when he drops back to F2P.

My plan might be something like: get to level 22 and slot SOs. Get VIP. Make a base and hit Tip missions hard. Get some nice stuff and sell it for 100's of million of inf (easy to do). Then see what happens with the base. As long as you get some stuff from VIP (like the inf) then it hasn't been a total loss and you'll know too what to expect from a base as Premium.

once you get a VIP you never go back to being a F2P you become a premium player at that point you can join a SG

Well, I'm using "F2P" to mean either Free or Premium, which seems to be terminology that most folks use because of other online games.

We do have a hybrid model here, it's true, but especially the Free and Premium players don't seem to differentiate between Free and Premium status. It's all "F2P".

Past rent bases can't be used by anyone, if enough time has passed. It's 8 weeks since last payment.

Step 1: Pay Rent
Step 2: 2 weeks later, get notice of rent due in 2 weeks.
Step 3: 2 weeks later, get notice of rent past due.
Step 4: 2 weeks later, power/control is shut off (TPs/base rez/defenses no longer work) - Most people wait until this point to pay rent.
Step 5: 2 weeks later, base is locked down. No one can enter.
Once rent is paid, goto Step 1.

Anyone who has at least Tier 2 Paragon Rewards (so earned first non-free token) can join a SG and do anything within that SG, including edit bases or be Superleader, except pay rent.

Only VIP members can interact with the Registrar to create a new SG or pay base rent.

Except that there ARE substantial differences between "Free" and "Premium" in this game. It only creates more confusion to lump them together. Please do not perpetuate this problem. It takes little effort to differentiate for clarity.

No you don't need to stay a VIP once you've created a base. However there is a catch. Only a VIP can pay base rent. So that leaves you with 2 options if you want to drop back to Premium.

1. Invite a VIP to your SG so they can pay rent. (there are SG permissions and you can allow him the ability to pay rent at whatever officer rank you like)

2. You can choose not to permanently use items that generate rent.

Here's the list of base items that generate rent.

Storage Items
100 prestige (per bin)

Auto-Doc / Tree of Wonders
100 prestige

Combat Logs / Contemplation Charts
100 prestige

Robo-Surgery / Spirit Signal
100 prestige

Advanced Worktable / Advanced Forge
100 prestige

Expert Worktable / Expert Forge
100 prestige

Robotic Fabricator / Flames of Hephaestus
100 prestige

Radiation Emulator / Enchanting Crucible
100 prestige

Linear Accelerator / Arcane Crucible
200 prestige

Supercollider / Mystic Crucible
300 prestige

Now here's a little secret. You will learn that some base items like Teleport pads require the use of worktables to create them. Worktables generate rent.

However . . . You don't need to keep worktables after you are done creating things for the base. You can sell the worktable back for the same amount of prestige you paid for it. It works like this.

1. Buy worktable
2. Craft what you need
3. Sell the worktable
4. You don't get charged rent for the worktable

Now if you wanted to make a base for the extra storage then you have a problem. You have to either be a VIP, or invite a VIP to the SG who can pay rent.

Why? Well the reason is that the devs maintain that SG's (and subsequently bases) are intended to be multiple player content. And as such SG base storage is not intended to be used as extra personal storage. So if a person wants to create a solo SG/base and use all it's features he has to be a VIP.

None of the players like this, but the devs have refused to compromise so far.

Something else to consider when deciding if you want to temporarily upgrade to VIP in order to create an SG. You will unlock a lot of other features permanently thru the Paragon Rewards you'll get. You won't lose access to them if you drop back to Premium.

  • Access to Tell, Supergroup, and Coalition channels
  • Mail system access
  • Player to player trading
  • Increased Influence caop of 500 million per character
  • Play Mission Architect stories (no rewards drop at this level)
  • +2 salvage inventory
  • +1 Recipe inventory
  • Access to the Trench Coats costume piece
  • 1 Tailor token
  • Experienced Temproary Power with 5 charges
  • Trustworthy badge
Hope this info helps encourage you to at least temporarily upgrade to VIP status.
