No offense intended, but we used to get these kind of requests all the time -- they aren't quite as frequent any more but it is not surprising that you haven't had responses. Many of us "snobby controller elitists" feel that folks should learn how to play a controller first before getting an end-game, "price is no object" "make me a build."

[Soapbox] Controllers are a different type of character than the rest of the game, more varied in powersets and playstyles. And in spite of this, too many people end up power-leveling a Fire/Kin just so they can farm. That somewhat frustrates some of us "old-timers."

It is also a little frustrating when someone who hasn't put much work into his PL'ed Fire/Kin comes on the forums and requests the old regulars to make him or her a build with "Infl is no object" when that person has no idea what is good or bad. Most of us spent many hours learning the information and then you are asking us to spend our time to make you a build when you haven't spent the time and effort to even attempt it for yourself.

Plus, if you do a very small amount of research on the forums, like look back a few pages, you will find lots and lots of discussions on Fire/Kins. Like this one. [end soapbox]

Not to disagree with anything Local Man just said, it still be fun to make a crazy cost fire/kin just for folks who say "cost is not a issue".

It would be kindly interesting (at least to me) how costly the build would end-up with a mix of purples, pvps, and hami IOs. Not that I would ever spend 10 billion on any of my builds, since I don't have a 'main' character to lavish on.

Nothing in life is free, as Local Man said - Its our time and expertise you are after but you're going about it in the wrong way.

I see you have a recent join date so i will nudge you in the right direction - Make a build and we will tell you what to do differently, eventually you will have a build that everyone will be happy with. Just don't come here expecting us to do the work for you.

Especially if {puts on Villain hat} we told them to use all those most expensive IOs in mostly worthless powers making it a totally gimped build.

I was planning on doing that...

But the OPs question did prompt me to make a build and it costs somewhere in the region of 10bn No expense spared ofc...but then you would be farming along time to generate the build for the farmer...:S ugh vicious circle

Worst thing is, you start thinking amounts of cash that use to impress become a target for scorn. For me right now, if you have less then 300 mil on a toon, I consider you poor if not downright homeless.

Buy we really should make a 'super fire/kin' to slap on the forums every time someone says 'cost is no limit'... and get the good old 'wtf' back from them once they look it over.

Plus April 1st is coming.

10bn spent on a farming toon would be a massive waste tbh since the difference between a 10bn and a 2 or 3bn is really not that much in terms of farming speed

And most of my 2 accounts have less than 300mill on each toon but then im spending it as fast as i can make it

All,

Even though it can be a bit irritating when people come on asking for builds ... it is still a request for help. I like helping people, and maybe 4 months from now someone will come on here and wish this were one of the threads where a build *was* presented. Lest that person, or the OP, be forced to move on, I will offer up a workable build that is functional without being silly/stupid-expensive, but which isn't cheap either.

Anyway, this build is very team-friendly. It isn't neutered in any way. It can also farm certain things if you want. It more or less does it all, within reason. It has 61.25% global recharge, which isn't a whole lot, but it is adequate for a good all-around build. The build has 43.8% smashing/lethal defense. It also has 36.6% ranged defense. The build includes Smoke, which can (in essence) make these defense values about 6% higher. I also left an extra slot with a generic resistance IO in Increase Density, in case you want to add 2-3 billion to the cost for the PVP global defense IO. That would bump everything up by 3%.

Also, note that MIDS doesnt support the ATIOs yet, but you can stick the non-catalyst version of the Will of the Controller set into this build in Fire Cages (instead of using Trap of the Hunter) and get something like 8.75% global recharge or whatever it is, without losing any ranged defense. If you take the time to collect 6 catalysts, you could upgrade the Will of the Controller set (but dont start until you have 6 catalysts as you lose set bonuses once its partially upgraded) and then you could squeak out an extra 1.87% ranged defense and an extra ... I forget, maybe an extra 1.25% global recharge by improving Will of the Controller.

MIDS also doesnt directly support the ability to use purchased enhancement boosters on individual IOs, but you could even shave a slot from Hasten with no loss by purchasing/using 10 total Enhancement Boosters on 2 level 50 recharge IOs in Hasten. You could shave Hot Feet down to 3 slots, and then put the 2 Acc/Dam/End IOs in there along with the single Armageddon damage/end purple IO, and use 15 total enhancement boosters on those 3 to get the numbers up. That'll save you 2 slots for ... well just about anything. I'd throw them on Char to get damage in it. Basically, there are other tweaky things you can do here.

Note that you could do other stuff too, like stick the purple Ragnarok set into Fissure, just for a billion or two influence, and eek out another 3.75% global recharge there. I'm pretty sure its not worth it, but hey.

In summary, this is a decent all-around fire/kin build that can perform in most settings (solo, team, incarnate, farming). It does have a high endurance cost, but hey, you are a fire/kin with transference, and if you are VIP you can get the incarnate Cardiac T3 and knock the end cost down a fair bit and get a level shift to help in general game play.

I hope people (including the OP) find it useful!

Thanks,

Lewis

Fire/Kin can do more than just farm. Build one that can rock regular/incarnate content and it'll be able to farm too.

I don't have a problem with giving out builds. If you copy it great, you'll benefit from it more if you learn from the build and apply elements you like from my build to your own builds. That said, this is my build, with softcapped S/L and ranged defense and perma-hasten with T4 spiritual and 1 siphon speed. Yeah, it can farm too.

Phew, been a while since i came on here and checked what the outcome of this post was. Yes i know now that i came about this topic the wrong way by asking for someone to make me a build, i ended up spending 10+ hours reading guides, past discussions, etc about Fire/Kins and their many uses. I apologize in advance if i may have angered anyone in any way, it wasnt my intention. I now have a lvl 50+3 Fire/Kin Controller that i consider one of my FAVORITE toons of all time. I solo +4/x8 game content like its nothing. Also replying to that post about being given a gimped out build, im not a retard lol. I know when a build says "I suck! Please Dont Use Me!" But i take that as your way of "punishing" me for the way i came about this subject. Again thank you all for posting and sorry for the delayed response on all this. Been a bit busy on the Kheldian section of the forums

It actually does (to some extent). When your mouse is over the IO you're slotting, hit the '+' key up to five times before clicking (the '-' sign will remove the boosting as well). The result will be a boosted IO enhancement.

However, this will not show up in the forum export text.
