SoA Crab Build Help

Okay so i just recently started playing an SoA and chose to go Crab Spider. I currently am still in the process of getting him to lvl 50(lvl 41 at the moment) but i am starting to look for good builds to use once i reach lvl 50. So far i have tried hitting mids for several hours trying to get myself use to the powers and how to slot them and stuff and no luck, i have also tried searching the forums for builds i might like but that has not turned out anything good either, dont get me wrong there were some great builds, but just not what i was looking for.
I am looking for an entirely Ranged Damage build, where i can use all the AoE attacks that Crab Spiders have to offer, as well as the 2 Single Target attacks that they get at first. I want all my attacks to come straight from the pack, i dont want to have to bring out my rifle because that would involve redraw time which i do not want, i also dont want to have any melee attacks seeing as how that would also consist of redraw time(as i have already experienced it) so if anyone out there can help me with this please i would greatly appreciate it. I am also looking to use Mu Mastery as my Patron Pool for the 2 AoE attacks it offers, and if pets could be perma, awesomeness as well. Again, any help is greatly appreciated as i am not use to playing VEATS

Might want to keep an open mind on gun attacks. They animate quicker than backpack attacks and the redraw isn't terrible if you mix the attacks.

My aoe chain is venom grenade (gun), heavy burst (gun cone), suppression (pack cone), heavy burst again. The redraw on the second heavy burst is so minimal that it's hardly noticeable. Anything left standing falls pretty quickly to the spider army. Hard targets are treated to shatter armor and a continuous volley of the first two single target gun attacks.

Dont have an exact build for you, but just wanted to pop in and put in my vote for gun attacks.

I recently did a spider just to 24 just to try it out. I burned all my vet respecs testing the basic crab moves and I was really surprised at how slow the backpack was for ranged attacks.

The backpack grenades have an especially long animation. I would definitely run both of those out of the gun. Draw-pop-pop from the rifle to fire both grenades seems much faster than firing both from the backpack

Blueruckus took down a pylon in 30 seconds using gun attacks etc. So they are a worthwhile option.

That is my build for a tanking crab spider, it uses some melee attacks or PBAoEs, but you can drop them for gun attacks, still keep ranged softcap, drop combat jumping, take hover and drop provoke for something, you have a decent enough build there.

May try out that tank/melee build on an alternate build slot. While I'm a big fan of the gun, I really like the theme/concept of the crab leg attacks, especially some of the melee stuff.

As much as everyone hates the pool, I actually enjoyed my kin defender with invoke panic and intimidate from the presence pool. Being able to fear minions and bosses was pretty neat. If the AOT proc keeps the terrorize, would probably toss that in venom as my opener and hit invoke panic to lock down enemies. Kinda gimmicky and probably unnecessary as a tank crab... but could be fun and different.

Range Cap Hover Crab with almost perma pets. If you pick up Agility incarnate they will definitely be perma. Or if you can afford some purple sets which I think is about 4 or 5. Its out here on the forums by Adeon Hawkwood. Then I would go with Musculature.

You could take out all the pets and just put in what you like as well.

If you were gonna go with the pets I would pick up Barrier eventually to buff out all the pets. I have it on a hunstman build and I have to say its pretty darn great. It allows me to solo Malta on 4/8 and no one can solo Malta on 4/8 unless they are spending billions. It just really makes the pets a beast.

I toyed around with the gun attacks once upon a time but the constant redraw between them, suppression, and patron annoyed me to no end. I'm now using a melee-ranged hybrid w/ slice, arm lash, frenzy, & scirocco. Great (fast) single target as well as AoE.

Regardless of what you end up doing, I would stay away from longfang. It's horrendously slow.

I think you'll find that taking all three of the Crab ranged AoE attacks plus Channelgun and Longfang will give you plenty of attacks to keep you busy. Once you add in two more AoEs from a patron pool, you've have useless attacks that you never use.

It's fairly straightforward to write up a Crab that has a ton of AoE attacks. Things only get tricky when you try to include other priorities. Do you want all your defenses soft-capped? Do you want the maximum number of rapid-recharging pets? Are you going to taunt to keep your pets from taking damage, or rely on the incarnate Barrier power? Do you want lots of Leadership to make your pets (and teammates) strong, or maximize your own power instead? In general, do you want extreme DPS or would you rather be very survivable?
