Question regarding Rikti lore and knowledge thereof (this post contains possible spoilers to storyli

I wait to do the Midnighter arc on most of my characters until they get the cape mission at least 20 in order to combine the “Cure the Lost” mission with the Lost encounters in the latter part of the Midnighter arc.

Sometimes I wait until 30 or more, and combine the cape/aura missions, so often the Hero 1 tomb and the other missions are all Rikti, but I have noticed that the Lost curing wand works on some Rikti, turning them to humans, only the Conscripts, and counts for the number of Lost cured as well.

It makes sense for the in-game story, but it’s a deeply embedded bit of trivia, I was just curious if it was widely known.

I just wondered if anyone had noticed this, as it isn’t mentioned at all in the Paragon Wiki articles regarding Lost or Rikti lore, and many people I asked were also unaware of it.

Some spoilers coming

#####################################

As far as I know, Riktis are humans from an alternate earth, who mutated themselves in the search for the perfect form of mind and body (or something like that).

When they came to Primal Earth, they started experimenting with groups of beggars and people of the street. They became the Lost.

You learn this through different story arcs, at least blueside

So yeah, in a way, it makes sense that the wand will cure some riktis Didnt know it, nice to know, btw

I wasn't aware that the wand worked on Rikti conscripts.

Spoilers concerning Rikti below:

However, the knowledge that Rikti are humans is pretty widely known.

Maestro Mavius - Infinity
Capt. Biohazrd - PCSAR
Talsor Tech - Talsorian Guard

It working on conscripts and not other Rikti (I wasn't aware of this myself) could be a deliberate indication that the conscripts (a word meaning their presence in the military is not voluntary) are not from Rikti Earth but are fully mutated Primal Humans. See Levantara's arc 'The Strange Case of Benjamin A. Decker' for a specific example of a primal human who was Rikti-fied against his will.

*** Spoilers ****

5 gold stars to the Devs for embedding into the code the fact that conscripts are humans and therefore the wand works on them.

I was previously not aware of the Wand working on Conscripts but find this bit of knowledge incredibly cool. I also find the fact that someone in development/programming planned this out without ever making mention of it or reference to it even more incredibly cool. I'll be trying this out myself soon. Thanks much for passing this bit of knowledge on.
