TW/ELEC or TW/WP??
So I'm taking a break from playing my doms to play a brute again but I'm torn between a TW/ELEC and a TW/WP. I want to know which one has the edge I guess in sturdiness and end management and which one has a better synergy.

He is .5% shy of being soft capped defense to S/L and has decent res too.
Having an endurance recovery tool is also very helpful.
WP + Epic Powers can provide a decent amount of recovery, but TW is really an end hog.

Cool... Would a TW/Elec be able to take on a lot of aggro? Also my TW/ELEC is lvl 18 atm should I buy her a cheap IO set or just the regular IOs?
lvl 50 dm/regen
lvl 50 em/inv
lvl 50 elec/stoner
lvl 50spine/regen
lvl 40 ill/rad
And many many more....

But at level 50 with IO sets and Incarnate stuff, my TW/Elec is a beast!

Im going Energy Aura myself.. End Drain, Heals, and recharge buff aura sounds too good to pass up..
The hard things I can do--- The impossible just take a little bit longer.
If numbers are so much more important than a teammate who is fun to play with, forget about the game altogether and go play with a calculator instead. -Claws and Effect-

I myself boast a TW/Fire brute. Not much surviability yet, but that's more to do with the fact that I'm waiting until I get some Hero Merits flowing, via the WWD arc, so her defense isn't that high yet. Planning on 34% S/L/E/N, so that should hold up agianst most things and a small purple from everything else.
Damage, on the other hand, is something she deals in spades. And I haven't gotten her Build Up powers yet. (Planning to do so soon) I call her a burning wrecking ball.
With Elec you'll have endurance recovery and a good enurance discount/heal power on top of good resistances. You'll need to slap some defense in (I'd advise going 45% S/L or 32.5% S/L/E/N depending on your preferances/what sets you can grab) but you'll be able to offset TW's end hungry nature.
WP also offsets the drain with better recovery. It also has decent S/L resists, Psi resists and defenses to... everything that's not S/L on top of good regen. I'd build for 45% S/L defense first then try and beef E/N to 32.5% at least, 45% if you can manage it.
Neither. TW/DA. I was able to softcap ranged, and almost softcap melee, _without using def sweep. And the char was easily playable from 25ish -50. I picked up def sweep both as an erad, lotg mule (plus hamio slotted), and to overcap melee for incarnate trials, where the extra defense really helps. I am picking cardiac ONLY because acrobatics and maneuvers was a little too much to run without it. Those picks were at 44 and 47, and acrobatics was functional without it but just barely. Running cardiac just makes it easymode to play the char post 47. It is already kind of easy mode as is, allowing me to run +2/8 solo to many mobs. The psiresist is helpful for untyped psi damage as well, which is somewhat common in iTrials, plus carnies.
However, my resists are kind of slightly better than mediocre. The heal goes a long way to mitigating that.

For a contrary point of view, my TW/DA was getting pwned so bad by defense-debuffing mobs and non S/L mobs (I softcapped S/L) -- such as Arachnos, Carnies -- that I had to abandon him and reroll. I went TW/SR. I am much happier. Check the Rikti Pylon thread in the scrapper forum for my results.

I have a TW/Elec. Im at 44 so far. I have not gotten all the sets that I am after as yet but right now my brute is doing quite well against most enemies that I have faced so far.
thxs for all the responses guys! I decided to go with TW/ELEC because I'm still kinda weary about /EA. However do anyone have any suggestion of very cheap IO set for lvl 21 brute?

I would avoid energy armor. While it does have some perks to it don't forget about all the redraw you'll have to be doing on a set that already has slow attacks when you stop to use one of those powers and don't have any momentum. I'd suggest TW/WP over all because of this reason. Elec is a decent choice but I'd prefer it as a tank than as a brute.
One that hasn't been mentioned that is pretty beastly all around, TW/Stone Armor. With granite keeping you near invincible outisde of psy, build your bonuses and alpha's to combat granites weaknesses, and you have aoe in spades from TW.
