So, kudos to the staff for steady progress.
Yeah, the writing's really improved over the years. A lot of the early stuff reads like garbage because it's either designed to be cheap filler or because the tech wasn't in place to fully realize an idea so the writing had to be altered to match what was feasible for the programming team.

As the tech's evolved the writers have been able to cut loose. Moral choices, multiple paths through an arc or even a single mission, those capabilities have really opened things up in terms of what the writing staff can do (Don't I sound like a Dev? ).

Just wait until you get a little further along. Numina's Task Force is mostly "Hunt Ridiculous Numbers of X" missions in a million different zones. And the classic versions of the Portal Corp arcs have plenty of those "Click Glowies Until You've Got Finger Cramps" missions.

So, Marvin Weintraub tonight. The Freak story arc was actually kind of cool. Then old Marv threw about 3 times the extra 5 missions Wiki says he has. One was a simultaneous 3 bomb defuse, recruited two friends after I cleared the mission. (Also had to rescue 5 or 6 hostages in it.) Good news, Marv got tired of me before I got tired of him. Bad news, just barely lol. Also picked up the badge for killing things in the wake of the IP ghost ship. I realized I am away from the house this weekend. So, I will do a couple more arcs, and pick it up again next week. It looks like I am closer to the end of 25-29 content than the beginning. I still have 3 contacts I haven't touched, and the bank to do. Then i will start poking around to see if I missed anything. Nothing in Marv's missions bothered me. Did not see a Super Stunner, and did not miss them. Lotta Freaks and Family, and I walked hard on them. I think the time away will re-energize me for the task. I know I am itching to get some more levels on this guy. I also have to start thinking accolades. With all the badges I have collected there should just be a few kill x of y to fill out all possible accolades. I have never hung around Blueside enough to know. All my accoladed characters are Red.

You should have the kills (or will have in short time) for the Atlas Medallion, which is the first one you will be able to get:

Next one will probably be the TF Commander: just do all the signature Task Forces:

The last 2 will take you some time: killing a bunch of AVs, or 100 fake nemesis

Dimensional Warder is the badge that requires all the AVs, i think all those AVs are in an arc in 40-45 range. I will be fighting them solo as EBs, i think that will get me credit that I need. Thats a pre-req for portal Jockey, and thats my pencilled in notes on how I plan to get it.

I see a arc called return to Vapyr mountain in my future, hopefully that will net me the Vampri badge, and then I just needs some warwolves lol. That will be the Atlas medallion.

Is the end of the Striga arc, which you need to unlock Ernesto Hess TF. I just did it this morning, and I didn't get those badges (probably because I stealthed the most of it)

But you will get them in the Hess TF, which is a cool one, btw

Finished Christine Lansdale last night. Interesting story. Fun little arc, and throwing in the lone unidentified nemesis soldier at the end was really nice. I also found out why Marvin had 15 side missions, he had Christines in my run! Either I just sleptwalk through Christine's (some were exactly the same, including the 3 bomb caper I recruited friends for) or there were slightly fewer. Or Marv had his and Christine's, or or or. Anyways, she seemed (slightly) easier. Also, strangely, as I was passing through Talos on a timed mission someone posted on broadcast a memorial was being held for @Salsakitten.

@Salsakitten was a RP on Virtue who passed suddenly. I did not know her. I stood for awhile in solidarity with the community. em holdtorch. It broke my heart to hear how much people cared for her.

My plan for this character has always been to do every bit of Blueside, every single thing a hero can do. I do not think I will encounter a more important thing I could do as a hero than stand there for one of our community that has passed. My thoughts go out to her husband and family. I hope she enjoys the afterlife of her dreams, maybe in another dimension as one of her favorite heroes.

Worked through Laurie Pennington's stuff last night. The time traveling council thing is very interesting. It finally occured to me the problem (one of the problems?) with the old Blueside stories. You go rescue someone right? Then you talk to your contact and they explain how much you learned in the mission you just ran. Hrm. Cause the guy said nothing but "I'm getting out of here."... the Warrior Arc from Laurie was slightly better, even though the subject matter wasn't as cool as time travel. Because the general wanted you to prove yourself, you do, he does the honorable thing.

Ran Tobias Hansens quick arc after that. I had to go to Wiki to decipher his final statement. I missed the one text box in the mission that explained his history I guess. They really need to show you things in the mission if they want to tell stories. Ah, they have improved so much. Forgot I was time traveling.

Getting close to rolling to 30-34 content. I am off for the weekend, but I'm taking an old comp with me and will try to poke at it when everyone is still sleeping (I am an early riser)

I have more Striga Arc, the bank mission, and a verification I didn't miss anything, then I'm rolling into new content and powers. Yeah Footstomp!

Finished the Striga arc. meh. But got Hess TF unlocked. Will run that later. Ran the bank, checked all contacts, and leveled. 30 yeah!

Rounding 29 to 30 had 315 badges, 21 Hero A-Merits (14 bought) and 138 Reward Merits.

Starting running content, and am budgeting a rough two week window for 30-34 content. Looking forward to Footstomp at 32, and slotting a bit more of my build in.

You are epic.

So true, but the main problem with this game has always been, on a team there is little to no sense of story, and I'm not sure the Praetoria/First Ward/Caption (aka, who the heck is speaking?) is addressing this problem adequately. But solo, yeah, story can be very solid.
