Well, I play City of Heroes at most casually. So while I heartily endorse this direction, it means that, personally, I don't foresee myself buying any new power sets.

No problem, theres a few VIP Only sets (Time and Soon Dark Controll) while there's sets where all buy (Titan, Soon Staff, Beam Rifle*)

I'm pretty sure I will not be paying to hit someone with a big stick!!!

Time Manipulation was released free to VIP, Beam Rifle, Titan Weapons, and Street Justice are all Pay to play for anyone. (VIP's do get the 400 Points/month free to help with that though)
Dark Control, Dark Affinity, and Dark Assault are slated to be released free to at least VIP.
Staff Weapons is slated to be another Pay to play set.

Well.....if you did go VIP, you would be getting a 400 pp stipend (or 550 points if you're tier 9), which you could then use to pay for it. 2 months of points easily pays for the new set.
Edit....err, what Errant wrote and I did not previously read.....except he probably should have stuck a semi-colon before "Beam rifle" ( ' ;

From the sounds of it Dark Assualt and Dark Affinity will probably be free across the board.

Something to think about. For me, power sets are about the only thing that I'd spend extra money to obtain points for.
Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.
I'm still learning exactly how the Developers should shut up and take my money. So... if I pay for VIP, do I get access to Titan Weapons for that month? If so, can I use that time to create a character that I then purchase and keep after my VIP month runs out?
