Viable Fire/Fire build?
I'm not sure exactly what you are trying to accomplish with this build. It seems to be all over the place.
You've taken all most all of your secondary powers which are melee heavy but haven't tried to softcap your S/L defense even though you took an Epic defense sheild.
You've taken Breath of Fire even though when in melee range you'll have trouble hitting more than 2 or 3 targets with a cone power.
You've skipped Rain of Fire which can be used at point black range as a PBAoE and the slow from Rain of Fire stacks with the slow in Hot Feet.
You've taken Blazing Aura. It is a pure end Hog that will burn through end like the government burns through tax money all the while doing virtually no damage because the avoid in Hot Feet will keep the mobs out of the pathetically small radius of Blazing Aura.
You've slotted Consume for End Mod but all you have to do is hit 5 targets total to fill your end bar from 0-100% without any End Mod at all. It should be slotted for Damage preferably with a set of Oblits.

if you want to play a fire/fire blapper then i think this build will work out much better for you. It has soft capped S/L def and a much higher global recharge to get your tasty aoes up more often. Fireball/Burn/Fire sword circle will decimate most minions and put a hurting on LT's as well. This also offers a good single target attack chain to finish up the bosses. Flares/blast/blaze isn't quite gapless but Firesword should fill the gap nicely. For even more goodness you could consider going villain long enough to pick up mace mastery for the Aoe Immob to keep them in your burn/rain of fire patch.

Here's a build I use, it's not min-maxed for anything, but is competent all around. You may find having an AoE immobilize to be TOTALLY AWESOME for Rain of Fire, and Burn if you take it. I just really like Soul Storm on hero builds, I love using the power and I'm willing to not go for S/L defense just for that reason, your mileage may vary. At the very least this will give you some insight on possible ways to ideally slot some powers and squeeze out bonuses (see my Tough slotting).
Also while you may think I underuse my secondary I do really appreciate Ring of Fire... due to the 1.67 cast time that Fire Blast has on a Blaster, my RoF is a better DPA single target attack, and while lots of people might blaspheme me for even using it, I know that in my heart it's a better button for me to hit than Fire Blast, given the option. That's more than enough merit for the secondary already, giving me a better ranged attack chain (I'm not a huge fan of Blapping and I've been through many builds).

Any suggestions for getting to the softcap? I didn't realize that Hotfeet would set mobs running, though I did know that Rain would, and wanted to try and avoid that. Thanks for the heads-up.
So there's no point in Blazing Aura because Hotfeet is the superior of the 2?
If I slot for more defense is it possible to keep the recharge bonuses high enough that Consume will be up frequently? The reason I ask is that Oblit and some others have barely any End reduction in the sets.

S/L defense of 45.4%. Melee focused. Breath of Fire is skipped because it provides no defense through set bonuses and while you are in melee it will hit only a few targets because of it's narrow cone width.
Blazing Bolt is unneeded because it provides no defense bonuses from sets and would only be fireable once per spawn.
Inferno will crash your endurance, drop your defensive toggles, and reduce your damage output to 0. It is also unneeded for that reason.
As previously mentioned Blazing Aura is too high end cost and too low in damage due to the avoid in Hot Feet.
Rain of Fire will combine nicely with the slow in Hot Feet, Ring of Fire combines nicely with Web Envelope to ensure that a boss stays in Burn for its entire duration.
Everything else should be fairly self explanatory.
A couple of caveats:
This is a respec build. It's meant to be used after hitting level 50.
During the leveling process you may want to use different pool powers such as concealment and medicine and you'll probably want to spend most of your early play time teaming.
Once you hit the later 30s you can solo fairly effectively if you make your mission settings -1x6 and avoid mobs that have lots of mezzing powers. If you jump from spawn to spawn as quickly as you can and combine up all the enhancements you don't need into purples you can keep your defense high enough to survive long enough to get enough inspirations to keep your defense up. A kind of inspiration cascade. You can level very quickly on your own this way.

I worked up this build before I saw Milady's, and am reasonably happy with it. Traded some recharge for positional defense, but overall fairly similar.
A few more questions.
I picked up flares as a filler attack at 49, but don't know if I'll need it?
Do the Microfilaments in Burn add +slow to mobs? (Can't tell from Mids.)
If I slot Tough with Reactive instead of Aegis, is that 1.3% to S/L going to make a huge difference? I know a bit about Def, and realize that it sort of scales the higher you get with it, but don't understand the particulars with the numbers.
I'm getting weird damage numbers in Hot Feet. Anyone know why?

Additional observations:
You want to slot Ring of Fire with either a HO nuc or a HO endo.
Put a stealth IO in sprint and that + Super Speed gives you PVE invisibility.
1 slotted inferno is pretty worthless. Take instead, a power that gives you some utility with a single slot (like Stealth slotted with an LotG +7.5)

You can frankenslot 3 Acc/Dam/Slow enhancements from the various slow sets and a Multistrike Dam/End, Multistrike Acc/Dam/End and a Cleaving Blow Dam/End to achieve similar numbers cheaply.

About the flares question the OP asked BELOW POSTS where it had already been answered, the single target ranged attacks go like this:
Blaze: Most godlike attack in the game
Flares: great filler attack and defiance builder
Ring of Fire: still a good single target attack, but not a great one
Fire Blast: the 1.67 animation kills it, making it the worst of these 4.

If you want an AV killer and can afford the endurance then by all means take with Blazing Aura... it'll add a decent bit of damage over a long fight. If you are mainly concerned with normal spawns I'd skip it though.

So to rehash this thread a bit, as about a week ago i just got my fire/fire/soul blapper to 50..and now that he is tier 3 alpha slotted, a total blast..he was my first and only blaster so far, i am normally a melee player, so a big learning curve i had for this effort....and about 5 respecs later over time, i found a nice build, middle of the road, that i enjoy as a blapper!
I tried in the past to softcap S/L, with no real res, didnt care for it, however, this build gives you 34.6% S/L Def and 45% S/L Res, so its not bad....also you will see the power choices i took versus what i didnt take, in my enjoyment these are a nice attack chain... typically my attack chain goes like this, also this build gives you perma Hasten...

its fun..anyways, also you will notice hasten is only 2 slotted, i put 5 enhancement boosters in each, prob didnt need that many, and that puts each enhancement about 53% each... some ideas i am kicking around are to get rid of the obliterations in burn and add in the Blaster ATO set, and then to make that set superior, but still undecided on it... anyone had any experience with the ATO set?

I've only run 2 blasters, one to 50, and that was an AR/Dev (which I know is an atypical couple of powersets). I'm wondering about mitigation, endurance problems even with consume, and about this attack chain.
Do I have enough recharge for a continuous chain?
I'll likely primarily team with him, as I think I'll need a tank to hold aggro with all the AoE.
Any suggestions?
