And the really silly part is that Dominators get Sleet at the same level that Controllers and Corruptors do.

A Dom is the one AT in the game where the order in which you click those silly buttons on your tray makes the most difference in whether to succeed heartily or die like a noob. Blasters and Controllers have a similar emphasis on tactics and proper planning, but Blasters do so much damage than even a poorly executed plan will wipe out everything in no time, and Trollers get cushy buffs to keep them safe and make them tough, and let them survive their mistakes. Doms just have to play right. It's not "k ill attack once or twice then I think I'll mez" no it's more like "I Will Mez Every Enemy Flawlessly and Definitely Not Carelessly AoE And Wake My Sleepers" or you die.

Controls first, both in execution and in power selection when you level up. Let's say you have an Earth-Fire dom. You're lv12 and deciding between Stalagmites and Fire Blast, but you already have Incinerate. As far as I'm concerned, you can do plenty of dps right now with flares and incinerate, taking Fire Blast will NOT help you nearly as much as taking Stalagmites, a strong opener for multiple target fights. That's pretty much how doms work.

This has already been largely debunked, but you're also forgetting that Plant perma-Doms are adding any damage enemy bosses do on top of their base damage.

Anyway, /Storm is a great set, but not major competition for Dominators in terms of damage. /Kinetics can be in certain circumstances, but its also true that Kinetics user don't stack together the way direct damage does. There is a damage cap but no cap on direct damage. Best case scenario is one, two Kinetics users tops. There is no similar optimal point for high damage characters like Dominators.

I dunno... It is for me? Walk in, sleet, storm, chain fences, psiwave, mash some ST attacks, more psiwave, more fences, slurp end with my aura... I don't even use my holds. Against certain enemy types I might lead with a chain confuse, but then its jump in the middle and mash buttons.

Admittedly, below 40 it was a little more hairy, but by 40 I had already softcapped s/l, had permadom, and all the powers I would normally use in a fight. Having permadom at 35 made 35-50(whatever) trivial. At 20, I just slept and ST blasted my enemies and ran 0/2 mishs solo. +2/8 mishs at 40-50 are for the most part super easy.

I just have a distinct lack of HPs. :|
