"Walking the Dog" seems weird?
The pet only has one movement speed: trot. When you Walk, he catches up to you at a trot then stops. Then when you get far enough away, repeat.

You havent watched enough dog shows. Get moving! Everybody runs so the dog looks better. get out there and move and the dog will look right!
The only thing that changed on the last patch was the ability to actually summon (and keep) a pet out using travel powers that suppress (almost) every other power. Unfortunately, that doesn't mean they actually added a "walk AI" to the pets at the same time. This is the default follow behavior for any NPC in the game; they will "slinky" if you're not moving at full speed.
Sounds exactly like what my actual dog does, although to make it really, properly realistic the in-game dog would also occasionally have to catch sight of a squirrel and race off at top speed, dragging your torn-off arm behind him.

Better yet, they could add a "sniffing the ground" component to the dog's animation and/or a "squatting/leg-lifting" component to make those pauses more realistic.

Hello,
just been for a meander around the Portal Corps lawn in PI with the German Shepherd pet and "Walk" toggled on.
Saw the changes mentioned in the update notes so wanted to try it.
Does anybody else think/feel that the implimentation of this is really weird?
The alt walks at a steady pace but the pet just walks and stops, walks and stops. It looks and feels not right.
I guess the speed of the Walk and the seperation distance to attract the pet is somehow a bit off.
I wonder if the Dev that did it actually tried it out?
Silly point and the world is still turning, but we did pay money for the pet and the Dev's obviously listened to all the player feedback about wanting to take it for exercise and spent time on it!
Is it working like this for anybody else?
Cheers
