The new trials? TPN? MoM?

I have been a bit confused on things. Are we technically in Issue 21.5? I know we got the new Incarnate abilities but what about the trials? Are they still in beta? Or whats the deal with them?

I know they were pulled, are they not coming till Issue 22?

Minds of Mayhem was never intended to be released with 21.5. TPN was held back to prevent it from being another Underground that no one wants to run.

As far as we've been told, Issue 22 is supposed to have it's own iTrial coming out, so both TPN and MoM should be coming out between now and then.

Yeah TPN was held back due to the numerous 'Yeah we're steamrolling this thing' and then the 'YOUFAIL' message and everyone going 'Why did we fail? Oh yeah it was the social rep thing', 'Oh no it was the television guy who got killed' - 'Oh no it was something else'.

Also, maybe Maelstrom going like 'I think I'm just gonna kill half the league now for lulz' whenever he wanted. That led to some complaints...

It's like Vorpal Judgement. Except used by an Extreme AV. Where everything dies. And then dies again.

So are these trials still in testing? Have any changes been made since then?

Yes, still in testing. No changes for a couple weeks, I think. No ETA on release for either

Props to the devs for taking our feedback. Keyes sucks and the UG is just annoying. No need to add more to the pile.

I hope we get some iTrials that DON'T involve Praetoria. If there is a god, this will happen! I am praying for it...nightly...don't worry fellow CoXers, I'm on it!

I have to assume at least 1 more after TPN, Minds of Mayhem, and the Dark Astoria Incarnate Trial. The one after the Dark Astoria Incarnate Trial would likely deal with Cole.

I find absolutely nothing wrong with these 2 trials. Perhaps you're just not doing them right. Keyes is very reasonable now, to the point I can run it half asleep like a BAF and NOT die, and UG... Well, I don't play very much but the few times I have played, went through flawlessly...

*Kanye shrug* Idk...

How many times did it take to reach that point, though?

I've been through Lambda several times already, and I still can't grok the layout of the acid/nades levels. Everyone else on the team zips around so fast that I can never get my bearings. Try as I might to "contribute" to that phase of the trial, sometimes it's all I can do to simply play Follow the Leader so that I don't take a wrong turn into three aggro'ed IDF mobs and get myself good and dead.

After several runs of Keyes, I've finally managed to get a better handle on it, though I've found that unless there is some reasonable attempt at league management of duties, the whole thing can turn into an aimless fustercluck that just makes the whole thing an unpleasant ordeal. And you'd be surprised (or maybe not) how many league/team leaders seem to think everyone is an expert who has done Keyes a hundred times and could do it in their half-sleep like you can, and who seem to think we are all endowed with telepathy and the ability to magically self-coordinate the terminal power-ups.

I keep doing these trials in the hope that someday I will be less dependent on good leadership, more capable of adapting tactically to the situation, and better equipped to make a greater (smarter?) contribution to these trials overall. But I can definitely relate to the frustration others, especially newbies, experience on all the trials (except BAF where the only frustration comes from the time it takes to form a 24-person league of people who know that they are VIPs, and who know that they have to click the damn green button in order for it to start).

Yes, they are EASIER but the Keyes is just no fun at all. I don't mind the UG but it is a tad long; it also involves too many chances to completely fail.

If you spend a ton of time forming a league and can so easily fail it....it really kills the joy.

In all honesty, Keyes only took me about 3 runs to fully understand what the hell was going on lol My first run, I was going on what everyone else was saying and I died a million times >.< Second run, I followed the leader more to understand the trial better. By the third run, I knew where to go and what to do. Only thing is how the leaders choose to run the trials. There are a couple different methods I've seen run on a Keyes so it depends on what the leader chooses. Lambda really didn't take long to master. A run or 2 and everything was simple. UG definitely did take me a little longer to understand but overall, with the right amount of time and patience, it's not that difficult to comprehend.
