Running two clients

In the NCsoft Lanucher, go to the Advanced settings and tick "Allow multiple instances of a game to be launched". You will need to use different accounts for each client.

Start updater. File menu -> Settings -> Advanced Tab -> check "Allow Multiple Instances"

Start game, run updater again if need be (File menu -> Settings -> General Tab -> Change "After Launching the game" if you want to change this) Start 2nd instance of CoH

Open the NCLauncher but don't start the game.

Click File, Click Settings, click the Advanced tab. Put a checkmark in the box labeled Allow multiple instances of a game to be launched and click OK. Launch the game. Launch the second instance of the game.

You may want to put some strings in the Properties for the game in the Extra Settings field such as -maxinactivefps 5

There are several good suggestions in one of Hyperstrike's Guide threads in the Gameplay/Technical Issues & Bugs forum section.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

I really don't like that setting since I don't always want to launch 2 instances of the game. I prefer to set it to close the launcher. It doesn't take long at all to re-open the launcher to start a second instance when that's what I'm wanting to do at that time.

So you went and made sure the "Allow Multiple Instances to be Run" box was selected, hit apply/okay, and it won't let you start it up a second time?

Keep in mind that you have to get actually to the City login window in order to launch the second instance. Just having the loading banner up won't be enough. Trying to load two instances always fails for me if I am too trigger-happy.

so...what happens if you simply alt-tab and reload the launcher/game? Also, can you confirm that the launcher is staying active? IE: it's in the taskbar once game is launched

If you're running 2 clients and are switching back and forth between (only have 1 client active at a time) I would recommend using the "/maxinactivefps 5" command on both instances. Just have to type that into a chat window and hit enter.

Basically it tells whichever instance that is in the background to not eat up your framerate and increase performance a bit.
