Character description area

So... this I am sure has been brought up before. I have numerous characters where it is impossible to trim down their backstory to fit within the 1023 character limit of the description text box.

Why is this limited to 1023 characters, and can it be increased? This goes all the way back to my first character in issue 2, seems like by now this should be something that could be changed.

Every time anyone makes a suggestion regarding the description editor I have the same thing to say:

Scrap the editor and rebuild it so that it's not a horrible buggy mess first, then build from that.

As for why the limit is (2^10)-1 characters, it's probably a matter of limiting how much data the server needs to fetch each time a person's profile is accessed.

IMO, keep it as is. You can use Notepad, some other editting tool and file, or one of the websites devoted to it, to keep the full biography.

Is it really worth the Devs to mess with it and break something else?

I like the fact that the bio space is short. It forces folks to get creative with what is written in a limited area. I know that I have written some things that I never would have thought of without the enforced limitation.

The devs have talked numerous times about the vast amount of data that is stored on a per character basis... up to and including limiting other areas. I doubt there is motivation to increase what is stored for free.

I just wish Robert Jordan had a limited space in which to write the Wheel of Time series. Books 1-5 were fine but after that he spent so much time on pointless description that 3 books were equivalent to 1 worth of development.
