Claws/Invuln

So my main is Claws/WP scrapper. It's pretty much invincible these days but now I have nothing left to do with it... so, enter Claws/Invuln. Keeping with the same theme, but I wanted more of a tanky character. She's 33 at the moment and having some serious endurance issues =P

Does anybody happen to have a claws/invuln build lying around that I can sneak a peek at?

I tried to make a build in mids but I'm pretty terrible at it. Just to set you up... I'm refraining from using purple sets, PVP IOs, and anything else (LOTG aside) that's going to cost me more than 100million for a single enhancement. I also skimped on fire/cold to boost up my energy/negative.

Also, what am I trying to do with this set? I want it to be as survivable as my WP scrapper if possible, but more of a tank that can keep aggro at the same time.

As an aside, I'm going to use the nerve radial incarnate to help push me up to the defense caps unless you guys have a better idea on how to work this

Hi

I've played around with the build a bit and come up with something that should be better overall - better damage output overall, end usage, accuracy across all attacks & a higher defence against s/l/e/n damage albeit with a slightly reduced f/c defence.

Main thing I've dropped is Haste (which should help some with the end issues) as you've enough attacks to fill any holes and Dull Pain only takes a little longer to charge back up up (147 seconds as opposed to 130).

At the least, it should give you a few ideas to play with

I actually kind of like that one. Think I'm going to try fiddling around with it a little bit and see what comes of it.

The sad part is... I still can't figure out a way to make this brute more survivable than my WP scrapper @_@
The 600 health difference seems to me would make jack all of a difference thanks to the rediculous amounts of regen a WP gets. Hrm...

Well, first of all using Nerve is a bad idea. It'll only give a bonus of maybe 2 or 3%. I'd go with Spiritual if your final build doesn't include Hasten. Cardiac if it does. Maybe Musculature, but that's better for a Scrapper than a Brute.

Second, Invuln was a good choice for a secondary if you want to tank (or be tanky). You have the right idea of skimping on F/C defense for higher E/N. I'm short on time for loading things into Mids, but you shouldn't have any problem outperforming Willpower. You have a psi hole, but that isn't as big a difference as a lot of people think, and with an Invuln you'll have higher defense and resistance as well as a lot debuff protection. Your regen will be lower, but that's somewhat offset by using Dull Pain appropriately during combat and can be completely removed from the equation with Rebirth Destiny (the Radial tree). Give it time, Invuln will reward you.

One of these days, I'm gonna finish this monster, but frankly, it's such overkill....

That's a really nice build all around. Only issue is I'm not even close to being able to afford those PVP IOs.

The sad part is... I still can't figure out a way to make this brute more survivable than my WP scrapper @_@
The 600 health difference seems to me would make jack all of a difference thanks to the rediculous amounts of regen a WP gets. Hrm...
Glad I could help - I've got both /wp and /inv (albeit as tanks) and on balance I'd say the /inv has higher survivablility in general. Dull Pain really does make a difference.

On the subject of recommending Alpha incarnate powers, I'd say look at the ones on Beta atm as well. Consider the Vigor one one - it affects end, acc and healing, which should cover a lot of the things you seem concerned about.

PVP IO's are free. I've never spent a single inf on one.

I run Tips if I'm desperately poor, or I market a bit, run some TF's, and convert merits to HM's.

At any given time, I'll usually be piling up HM's on three to ten toons at a once.

About once a week or so, somebody hits 30 or 35. If I need a big proc, I buy it that way.

At some point, I'm gonna run the new 'Who Will Die' arcs for a nice potload, too.

PVP's are cheap. All it takes is a little time and tinkering.

Happened to peruse the forums looking for any info on my new toon, and lookie what I found!

Luckily I don't have to start a new thread.

One question though.

It looks like eviscerate is skipped. Is it not needed? Same for eviscerate.

Willpower has more passive regen than Regen does. Who thought that was a good idea?

Can we get a fix for Energy Melee instead of more new sets?

On a claw/inv, you want them close to you, so a melee cone is much less useful.

With a good build, spin is recharging usually every five seconds. You also need to throw followup frequently for the +tohit +damage buff, focus is your only knockdown and ranged power, and you keep a lowby filler or two for sets.

That's really, truly, all you need.

For the record: I finally got my claw/inv brute to 50, and after I finish a couple other project toons, it's in the pipe to get built out.

400 point spins, glee!

Yeah, thats how I have my claws/sr scrapper built, but he's mostly used for AV soloing.

So, with the new Alphas out there, which would you suggest? I have Cardiac on my ss/inv brute.

On a claw/inv (specifically, my build above) it's spiritual all the way.

On a claw/inv brute, on a good build, all you care about is Dull Pain and Spin/followup. Everything else is gravy.

Spiritual boosts both of those in many ways, and is, in my opinion, the best choice by a wide margin.

Now I'm debating whether or not to reroll my Fm/Wp as a Fm/Inv
