SSA questions

So I'm back after a break, lots of great changes. (Especially aoe 4 minute durations on shields and such... when I suggested something like that last year the forums cried DOOOOOOOOOOOOM, but most everyone I've seen in game loves it, I know I do.)

*ahem*
My specific questions are about the new Signature Story Arc missions. I've started a new red character, he's hit 20 and just got through 10 tips/1 morality mission. I know the SSA requires you to confirm your alignment before you can select an alignment merit for your reward. Do I need to slog through another 11 missions before I can grab a vil merit, or did I already confirm since I started a vil and stayed true to that path?

Second question: The SSA merit reward is on a 1 week timer if I have my information correct, as in I can only get the vil merit one time per week per character. Is this one week from the date I do the mission, or does this reset with tuesday maintenance?

Thanks in advance!

Welcome back!

The key is what alignment were you when you did the villian morality mission. If I understand you correctly, you were a villian and you did the villain morality mission. Therefore you reinforced villain and are qualified for the v-merit award.

Second, I believe that it is on its own timer like the tips, and does not reset on tuesdays.

Also, there is a 1-time bonus v-merit for the second mission. You can get any award you qualify for the first time you do a story arc regardless of the time. So if I understood right, you can do both part 1 and 2 and get 2 v-merits right away. then starting next week it will be 1 merit/week even if you do both parts.

Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.

Yes, heroes and villains that *start* as heroes or villains and confirm they are heroes or villains do not need to do another morality mission.

The only time you need to do it twice is when you're moving from one alignment to another. So if you go from Rogue -> Hero or Vigilante -> Villain, then you need to do another 10 tips and a 2nd morality to 'confirm'.

But as a hero or villain from the start you only have to do a morality mission once to confirm your status.

As for the SSAs, remember that you can do each one the very first time and get a reward regardless of the timer. So the very first time you do them, you can get 3 A-merits. 1 for episode 1, 1 for episode 2, and then you can repeat either to hit the weekly cool down reward.

And the cooldown is from a week when you did it I believe, so if you did it on a monday afternoon, you won't be eligible for the weekly reward again until next monday. Which is why a lot of us are asking the devs for some sort of timer to let us know how long we have left on reward cooldown ;9

with the exception of the WST which is basically reset of elegibility vs. being an actual timer, all "Once per [whatever]" timers start when you pick the reward.

Thanks all, that pretty well clears up what I needed to know. Yeah... a lockout timer would be great. If they're going to implement those kind of things then people need to be able to track the timers on them. Ah well, something for the future.

Note that you can get EACH of the rewards once per week, not ONE REWARD once per week. You can run it four times for all four rewards on a reaffirmed hero/villain, each reward once per each week.

The incarnate rewards aren't bad, for the time investment. Especially since there are few (if any) ways to get threads and Astrals solo. The problem is, unlike Hero or Villain merits, the number of threads or Astrals needed to do anything significant with is huge. And since there are no other ways outside of the iTrials, and timer is so long, and the iTrials reward/time scale is a lot larger, these rewards seem meager. If the incarnate rewards each were repeatable, infinitely, or even say, 5 times each week, then these rewards would be a significant and viable alternate to the iTrials for those who prefer to solo, or, due to the hours of play perhaps, can't reliably find iTrials. The iTrials would still be more efficient but allowing more repeating for these two reward choices would make them a lot more appealing.

Hmm. Now that I think about it, maybe I vaguely recall that the threads are a repeatable reward option. I'm almost positive the Astrals are not, but maybe threads are. I'll have to check into this unless someone else knows for sure...

If the threads are repeatable, being able to solo and pick up 60 threads in about an hour isn't horrible..

A-Merit, Astral, Threads, 4x merits are once per week. "Merits" is repeatable.
