My question of the day is.. "What kind comic do you happen to have?"

You see, i happen to won a auction for a 1964 comic book of The Avengers #4.
It won't show up until ether the 19th or 20th day of this week.

But If anyone who happens to have a rare comic book from ether Marvel or DC.. What kind of comic is it and what value do you have in your shelves?

Leave your comments below!

1st issue of Spider-Girl and a sizeable chunk of her entire run (Not rare I'm sure but collection is worht a lot to me :P).
1st issue of The New Teen Titans, found that one for 20 bucks at a hole in the wall mini-convention in excellent condition.

O and an issue of the Golden Age Blue Beetle, I cant recall what one of the top of my head but its very old.

I don't have any anymore, but all of my issues that were of any monetary value were Amazing Spider-Man. First Venom, first Hobgoblin, Six-arms, return of the Burglar (#100 IIRC), the death of Ned Leeds, etc.

If it was valuable after issue #100 or so, I probably had it (except for the first Punisher. ******* that issue.)

Thanks for eight fun years, Paragon.

I don’t recall the oldest but I do know I have Incredible Hulk #181.

Giant-Size X-Men #1, in remarkably good condition, which I found in an estate sale that my dad was overseeing when I was a teenager. I about had a heart attack, because they had ZERO idea what it was.

My whole early "new" X-Men collection from GS1, and then 94 up into the 120s has a special place for me. Not just because they are some amazing and ground-breaking stories, but because I first got hooked on the X-Men just at the start of the Hellfire Club/Dark Phoenix story, and then I HAD to go find all the stuff that came before it.

This was the early 80's, well before e-bay, online comics stores, etc, so there was a lot of time spent cajoling my mom into taking me to this or that comic shop, hitting the San Diego ComicCon waaaaaay before it became the monster it is today (i genuinely miss the grimy, kind of back room geekiness of the con in the old days), and using every ounce of my allowance and youthful enthusiasm to fill out my run. Finding GS #1 was just the cap to the whole thing.

My oldest comics would be X-Men (1963) #2.
Yes it happens to be in great shape, i spent about $67 dollars for the auction and shipping combined.

Nice on X-Men #2, How on earth did you got it?

None in good shape but all the original series. Not the reprints or spinoffs.

Metal Men #1-3
X-Men 1-10
Hulk #3

And some others I can't remember right now. Maybe I'll dig the boxes out this weekend or something.

Do 6 copies of X-Force #1 one un-bagged and read, with the other 5 still bagged and each containing #1-5 collectors card that launched with the funny books?

Or my X-Men Vol 2. #1? 5 copies, 4 being differnt covers that combine into a transformer like super cover when lined up! THe 5th being the super awesome holofoil(or whatever it was) fold out cover that had each previous cover together by Mr. Jim "I'm really a douce-bag" Lee?

No?

Meh, I have Mr. douce-bag" first X-men gig, #248 I think? A handful of early Avengers numbers fail me now but they are single digits-#20's. Not in terribad shape, but, not good either.

Few issue of Moore's Miracleman run, not #15 though. (You know, I don't think I have actually ever read these)

Now I have to go dig through my stash, strewn comics all over the house pissing off the wife and yelling at the 2 year old to "PUT BATMAN DOWN!!!"

Are you happy now?

That may be the oldest one I have as well.

I had about 25 issues of Thor from the early 80's from about #280 to #305 or so.

And a bunch of Teen Titans from the same timeframe.

Got them from my uncle. They were in a box in my basement, I'm pretty sure our leakage issues have destroyed them by now, but it's okay, they weren't in very good shape to begin with.

A couple of years ago, I decided that since I already had X-Men #94 to present, I'd see if I could go backwards to #1

I left a wantlist with a couple of stores in Montreal that specialise in silver and golden age back issues, and #2 is the furthest I got. Paid $225 for a VG/Fr copy in July 2010.

As far as oldest, I've got Amazing Spiderman #42 and #43. I've also got the first appearance of the Shocker (46 maybe can't remember now). I also have issue 100, 121, and 122. The condition of all of these is nothing to brag about, but I have a great copy of ASM #300. I got most of these in the mid 90's back when the Spiderman lolclone saga went on and was able to get every copy of every issue of this Spiderman storyline, to even include issues of the New Warriors and Web of Scarlet Spider. I am also only missing Factor X #3&4 keeping me from finishing the entire Age of Apocolypse series.
Sorry to stray from the topic, I just haven't talked about my comic collection in years

All my physical comics are trashed... the closest ones that I have that might have been worth money are...

Batman 500 or 501 which is the Bruce vs Az-Bat in the mall issue
Amazing Spider Man 50th Anniversary(i think) holofoil issue with Spidey fighting Kraven
and Batman #0

My grandparents had some really old comics, but nothing really worthwhile so meh

Personally I think completely trashed comics are much much better than a perfectly preserved comic book worth $50 or $100 or even $1000. Because a trashed comic means that some kid, or kids read that comic again and again. Maybe they leaped over tall buildings with a single bound. Maybe they faced down an unstoppable juggernaut. Or maybe they were just a red headed teenager in Riverdale. But that dirty torn and battered comic book took them away from mundane reality and into their favorite fantasy worlds again and again.

And that's worth more than any comic book that was sealed away unread and unloved.
