Defender's bastion 4pc bonus: What if?
The point people are trying to make is that if it's going to be a bonus on an Archetype specific set, it should actually WORK for ALL possible combinations of that archetype.
It doesn't matter if most Defenders have a heal. It only matters that not all of them do. |
Of my three defenders, my main Cold/Ice doesn't benefit at all. My Kin and Time benefit to varying degrees, but I'm not even looking at the set for that. There are dozens of set bonuses that are useless. This one isn't even necessarily useless because everyone can have a heal if they want one.

OK so if they change it to the boring and useless 7-9% accuracy that the other sets have, would that make everyone happy? Because, they aren't going to give it much more of a benefit than that. And then everyone can feel that the bonus is useless.

This is a gross miscarriage of justice and we cannot stand idly by and allow this to continue without raising our voices to the powers that be. 4 out of 10 defender primaries are being shafted yet again.
WE ARE THE 40%!
I propose that all non healing defenders rally outside of Atlas city hall until we receive equal consideration for a 4 slotted Defenders Bastion bonus! If this bonus is allowed to go to live it will widen the already vast rift between the haves and the have nots. Paragon will be forced to see and recognize the favoritism shown to the healing primaries while we the 40% are once again cast to the side.
I proclaim that until the 4pc Defenders Bastion bonus is changed to something useful such as immob resistance we the 40% will remain on strike!
I would prefer to have the healing bonus for the characters that can use it.

Even something as simple as +X% healing and improves the duration of all buffs and debuffs by X% would be acceptable.

(I would certainly prefer a more unique bonus though.)
I play Defenders, Corruptors and Controllers more than all the other archetypes combined, the vast, vast majority have a heal (either from primary, dark blast, or medicine) anyhow and I'm STILL against the Archetype set having this bonus since it doesn't apply to everyone of that archetype.
Frankly, I wouldn't even care if not for it being the Archetype set. Devs want to put +Healing on Ranged sets? Melee sets? Resistance Sets? Fine. Perfectly happy for more options.
But as an archetype unique set. No. All bonuses on it should benefit all possible variations of Primary/Secondary for the Archetype.

If they change it, it's going to be something small and generally useless. It's pretty useless now. About 8 points in Healing Aura, 13 in Heal Other. So I guess if folks want to stack an additional +7-9% accuracy (or whatever the change it to), I guess that's cool.

Unfortunately, there isn't a single (de)buff that's common to (de)buff sets. Not one. Healing is as universal as it gets. Further, there is, as far as I know, no set bonus that would buff FF's ability to buff defense. |
+Strength to: Defense, Tohit, Healing, Regeneration, Endurance, Recovery and Movement, would affect every buff AND debuff that wasn't flagged "Unaffected by buffs", which frankly, no set bonus could help anyhow.
Of course, that whole suite still leaves sonic-resonance out in the cold, unless the duration of set bonuses' buffs is long enough that Liquefy would inherit the buff for a signifigant period of time.
Oh well. Better change it into an endurance discount bonus. Defenders love endurance discounts, right?
Mission Arc: Metatronic Mayhem (Id 1750): A tale of robots gone wrong, rogue robots gone right, and madmen gone every which way but loose.
