Increased healing question.

Alright in Mid's when I slot my hp regen abilities with healing sets the +heal part of the set bonus seems to do nothing. After reading the mechanics on paragon wiki I understand why this happens. However, when I finally pick my alpha slot ability I want to know if I pick the spiritual one, will it act like an enhancement and buff the heals and hp regen skills or will it act like the enhancment set bonus healing and only add to heals and not hp regen skills.

Thank you,
Schlateman

(P.S.) It's late so my grammar is probably very bad and I apologize.

If slotting a heal SO in the power would increase the regen it provides, the alpha will as well.

Yes. It acts exactly like an enhancement slotted in any power that accept healing enhancements. Except it's better because part of it ignores ED limits.

Yeah, Alphas act like an extra enhancement was added to everything you have (except your Incarnate powers).

The higher a rank of an Alpha slot, the more it edges past diminishing returns as well. So a three slotted power would still get something from an Alpha Slot of the same sort, just nowhere near as much as something with two or less slots of that type. The commons get 1/6 of the thing bypassing Diminishing returns, Uncommon 1/3, Rares 1/2, and the Very Rares 2/3.

Spiritual is still nice though, as it's primarily Recharge, and the heal is it's secondary bonus. If say, Health or Jab were already 3 slot Heal or 3 slot recharge, you'd notice next to nothing. But something like Instant healing with huge base numbers would get a significant bonus. The Very Rare would give like, almost a minute less Recharge, and almost 50% more Regen, more than adding a 3rd heal enhancement gave gave you compared two of them.

In the end though, pick the alpha that you think would be most convenient for you, whether or not that buffs a niche bonus.

Clearly, we need more lasers.

Specifically, it acts like a group of enhancements. So unlike multi-aspec IOs or Hami-Os, if you cannot directly slot a power for something - say recharge - it will not benefit from Spiritual even if it has a recharge time and accepts/is buffed by other aspects of the Alpha.

The real question is: Is it buggy like hamios allowing cool exploits, or is it functional like IOs?

On specific example/question, does musculature enhance damage resistance the way a nucleus hamio does or not?

It's neither like Hamis or IOs. Hamis are totally bugnuts (because of the way the game works), and IOs can make a power accept enhancements that it shouldn't (e.g. Vengeance and tohit/recharge or defense/recharge IOs, the recharge portions will work).

Alphas work exactly like slotting enhancements in a power. If a power does not take X enhancement, then X alpha will not work in it. If a power does take Y enhancement, then Y alpha will work in it.

That's not quite correct - while the Incarnate powers aren't boostable by recharge buffs (from the Alpha slot or anywhere else) they are boostable by the other alphas - the Musculature Alpha will increase the damage of the Judgement powers, for example.

pretty sure IOs and Hamidons work the same. It's just with set restrictions we don't get the broken combos of the Hami-Os
