You are paying for a wonderful game which has been changed into a hybrid model. With change comes problems, and the problems must be fixed....on Tuesdays

Eventually they will smash all the bugs and hiccups, but, until then, well, I will have lots of wonderful homemade breakfasts cooked my way on Tuesday mornings to look forward to

Lisa.

There are a lot of bugs to stomp at the moment. Problems with the costume creator, problems with being out of phase in the new phasing missions, problems with crashing when zoning for the first time after logging in.

Plus, they're activating the 'Who Will Die - Part 2' content.

Patches are Tuesdays, maintenance is Thursday. That's just the way it is.

Hell, I don't expect to be able to log in ANY morning after 7, as the servers used to go down for maintenance at this time every day.

Hahaha, yeah, no... not really.

But the downtimes will go back to just the weekly maintenance eventually, I'll give you that.

Yeah... it could happen... but then dogs and cats would actually get along and rain drops will taste like sweet water.... Yeah, it could happen... but not likely.

They are using the system. Patching and taking down when they want. In the end they don't really need to justify anything they do. What are you going to do about it? Nothing. Sad but true.

Well up to a point that's true. If it gets too bad you can just drop your level to premium for a few months till it gets better.

The new business model actually encourages you to voice your disapproval in this manner. You still have access to the game and 99% of the features but you have 100% of your money.

I've poked around but, don't see any notes. Has there been any word on how long the downtime will be?

The Live European and North American City of Heroes servers will be taken offline for a publish on Tuesday, October 11, 2011.

Start Time: 4:00 a.m. PDT / 7:00 a.m. EDT / 12:00 p.m. BST / 13:00 CEST
Expected Duration: 3 hours
Expected Finish Time: 7:00 a.m. PDT / 10:00 a.m. EDT / 3:00 p.m. BST / 16:00 CEST

Patch notes for this publish will be available as soon as possible after the downtime.

Please note that the servers may become available earlier than scheduled. We will let you if that is the case.

We apologize once again for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

My dogs and cats get along perfectly well thank you. As for raindrops tasting like sweet water I always thought they did - well in my part of the world they do.

@OP
It is very annoying for you that the server downtime coincides with your playtime, it coincides with mine as well. But, I'm sure the devs don't do it at this time of day just to annoy us, they have to do it when 'most' folks are not playing. I'm sure if they ran a poll to choose which time of the day they did patching and maintenance this would be the time when less folks were playing - it just happens to be our bad luck that it coincides with our playtimes. Hopefully things will get back on an even keel and it will return to once a week soon.

There is always a lot to be thankful for, if you take the time to look. For example, I'm sitting here thinking how nice it is that wrinkles don't hurt. ~Author Unknown

Patches on Tuesdays, server maintenance on Thursdays. We tend to get a lot more patches in the weeks after a new Issue release than the weeks before the release of a new Issue.
