Demon set whip attacks

I'm a demons/time MM at L46. This is where I seriously start work on my buuild and time is a very active set. I generally don't use my whip attacks because I'm too busy buffing/debuffing/slowing and healing. I don't do a lot of soloing.

How many of demon MM's aren't doing the whip attack powers and howz it working out for you?

I dont yet have a high level Demon MM, so take my comment with a grain of skepticism.

If you feel you can handle content well enough, and that you arent using the attacks, then clearly skippimg them is viable. You are already level 46, after all. However, I would at least keep the long range single target whip, simply for debuffing the resistance of single high difficulty targets at range.

In general many Mastermind players do not take personal attacks purposefully because we are too concerned in closing the level gap with the pets. Though I could see taking a attack if you need to slot it with a certain set for a needed set bonus. EG Defense cap reasons or recharge reasons.

I have a Demon Pain that I has the customary whip attack but it is not slotted. I have the range one for pulling assistance sometimes.

I had 2 of the whip attacks leveling up to around 42, but after an IO respec to get some DEF bonuses, I dropped all but the cone one. Mainly because it just LOOKS cool (twirl in the air with a fiery whip). I only left the native slot in there, however.

If you aren't Magic and you are /TA, you could also use one of the whips to ignite your Oil Slick. I am Magic so I just did a macro to use my origin power for that purpose.

Otherwise...the whip attacks are totally skippable.

Well on my level 50 demon/dark MM I have two whip attacks. The cone one, and the single target ranged one (not lash, the 20' one). I find them handy for their additional debuffs coupled to the damage they inflict, so it's less "do I have two okay attacks" and more "do I have two more debuffs to spread." From that perspective they're quite nice.

I plan to take Corruption for sure, to keep up debuffs, on my Demons MM.
I hope to have room for at least one of the other whip attacks.

Those debuffs are great and toxic damage is very nice.
