electric/time SET slotting
If you've looked through some of the other threads there are some that use the PB+Farsight combo to softcap range, all 3 vectors, or whatever defense they prefer. Others (myself, included) go for more recharge, getting CS perma, which in turn makes pretty much everything perma.
Of course, some builds would be able to achieve a good mix of both sides and with use of purples. I don't really shoot to slot purples anymore except ones like sleep/confuse since they're relatively cheap.
First things first. You need to decide what you want to do with your controller. My earth/time has 4 location patches to throw down, so I wanted to have those up as often as possible. Hence I went with a more pure recharge build.

Up and Comers: Ameterasu (Km/Reg Scrap), Arrhymian (Elec/Nin Stalk), TDMKII (Bot/Traps MM)
It depends on what you want to get out the build. The build I have planned out for my elec/time is going to be softcapped to all and have an insane amount of recharge.

Well I guess you answered my questions. It's both I should strive for. If possible. I guess it all Depends on what I am willing to spend. I guess shoot for recharge first. Hell it worked on my grav/storm and he is very survivable and doesn't have a whit of defense
I think recharge is a better option than relying on power boost. If you can perma chronoshift(which is a worthy goal in and of itself), you can then get farsight below 60sec recharge, which means you can double stack it, providing around 28 defense to all positions and damage types from that power alone(and a nice tohit buff to boot.) After that you can just pick up a defense shield from you're epic(Ice is good, though ice storm may be a miss for you electric types), and you got easy S/L softcap, and with some basalisks gaze sets that you were probably going to slot anyways, energy/negative softcap is pretty easy to hit as well.
A power boosted farsight(2 enzymes and a lotg+) with non pb'd weave(same slotting), maneuvers(same slotting), hover/cj(lotg+) and a steadfast +def proc will give you 43% def to all. That uses very little slots and gives a good return seeing as you can use all those excess slots to work in any other bonuses you could want and not have to pick up a patron shield. Also farsight does not stack from the same caster.

I don't think Farsight stacks with itself. Mine recharges pretty quickly and when I use it while another instance of it is on, I don't get another increase to defense. Unless Combat Attributes is reporting incorrectly or there's an odd glitch when using PB.

Yeah, I'm fairly certain as well that Farsight isn't allowed to stack from the same caster. Even if it was it would only stack for a portion of it's duration while PB will affect Farsight for it's full duration. With PB and Farsight, it's possible to soft cap to all positions and types.
Farsight does not stack from the same caster.
Also, if you are using the recent mids update be careful when checking the defense values with PB. Right now it is enhancing defensive values in powers such as hover, CJ, etc. What I have done to get around this is find out the difference in Farsight with and with out PB, then checking the defense values without PB turned on, and adding the added Farsight PB benefit. Also, I know in illusion's Grant Invisibility power, the totals window is showing non-suppressed defense amounts. I don't know if this is happening with other powers, but it is worth double checking if you are going for soft cap.

I think I will frankenslot him to 50 to save some money to build the dream build. Another question though....would stone mastery be a good choice for the extra damage and the shield? I hate to go against the grain of contemporary wisdom but I just like the theme of It better.

This is my Frankenslotted build. Did I do it ok? I know most people (probably all people) come to the boards with fancy set ups but would anyone mind checking this out. I wanted to make it cheapish. Also I can make changes for a little more expensive things if needed.
I think I acheived what I wanted which was to be better than SO's and also carry me to 50 and past 50 while I gather mor cash.
Also are the power choices ok? Did I leave out ones that I shouldn't have or have ones I should toss?
I really wanted afterburner thats why it is there. Also at level 31 which I am at now, I really dont find myself using my jolting chain or paralyzing blast....but maybe that would change in higher levels, I don't know.

So now that mids is updated I have been fiddling with it and have a couple questions. Because we have farsight and the whole power boost combo should one be focusing on defense and then recharge, or recharge first with defense secondary? Or just be happy with the defense you get from the powers and focus your set bonuses solely on recharge? What are others doing with this combo?
