Costume Load Options

I would like to be able import a costume without changing the body shape or face. Perhaps a couple of check boxes:

[X] Do not modify existing scales
[X] Do not modify existing head

The first is hopefully self explanatory but refers to all the various body & face shape sliders. The second refers to both the face shape sliders and all costume bits stored under the Head section - basically only import everything below the neck.

Obviously these options won't be available/do nothing if you are attempting to change the sex of the character.

If I have to choose between them then I'd choose the second option. I've run across several cases in the last few weeks where one or both would have come in handy, mainly when trying to copy a "uniform" (Vanguard, SG, Police, whatever) across several characters or players.

Subject to the SCR, I like it. Would make some things easier and open using costumes more on different characters.

I would definitely like this, as well as the ability to load the head & body scales without changing the clothing parts.

I did this sort of today. I saved two costumes, the original and the costume with the misshapen head (no idea how it got that way). I then used a text editor and the scales are all at the top. I copy+pasted the scales only from one costume to the other, then re-loaded the 2nd and poof, face shape fixed.

But it would be nice to be able to do that with a check-box.

I know the costume save/load feature is not perfect but why couldn't you use the specific reset buttons to "undo" any scale or face changes that happen when you try to load a new costume over an existing one? I've moved/copied many costumes to different slots and I found I can do almost anything like what you're talking about without having to resort to manually editing the .costume files.

I'm not saying your suggestions are bad. I'm just saying there may be easier ways to work around the limitations of the system.

I completely support this idea.

Couldn't you have done this with one save?

1) Save the bad head costume

2) Load it onto the good head version

3) Use the reset scale button on head to revert it to the good head scales?

Look, all in-game too.

Curse you Lothic for saying what I said in a big block of text.

I've never had any luck with the reset button so I had given up on it and never use it... well once in a while I'll use only to discover yet again it doesn't work like I need it to.

But I'll give it a try. If that works then this suggestion probably isn't needed but I still like it, especially for publishing costume files people can actually use.

Oh, and I need to add to the original suggestion: if you don't import scales it should also leave the skin color alone.
