I don't know why you went for so much +rechg bonusing, I would of gone for ample def then hitpoints. Aid self would be in the build for a bit more damage sustainability rather than anything unnecessary.

overslotted the SR/ side while underslotted the /MA side. you'll get better numbers if you switch that. 6 slot your attacks with sets that give bigger defense bonuses and just ED cap your defensive powers.

You've slotted several sets that give primarily S/L or N/E defense that give small positional bonuses (Mocking Beratement, Thunderstrike). Ditch these for a positional build.

You've not slotted the Steadfast +3 Defense in Tough? *boggle* I can see not slotting the PvP +3 Def, as it's crazy expensive, but not the Steadfast.

Here's a redo, with 2 spare slots, that would be closer to what I would do. It leaves the attack slotting up to you.

edit: It also has Weave, to get closer to the Incarnate softcap (59%) if you are on a trial with lots of End recovery but low Defense buffs. Won't normally need it. Also, has 2450 HP before attack slotting.

This is something I built on Friday, put it into mids. Basic highlights,

51% + positional defenses before Storm kick, 61% Plus after
2754 HP with Accolades
40.84 HPS Regeneration
67.5 % Recharge

My philosophy on this is simple. Avoid attacks, Maximum Hit Points I can put together without gimping the build and having good regen to deal with damage when I am hit. Below is the build.

Scrappers and tanks are 2 dif archetypes, tanks take damage, while scrappers deals it out. I looked at the MA side and had close to max on damage on them for a tank.

You've not slotted the Steadfast +3 Defense in Tough? *boggle* I can see not slotting the PvP +3 Def, as it's crazy expensive, but not the Steadfast.

Here's a redo, with 2 spare slots, that would be closer to what I would do. It leaves the attack slotting up to you.

edit: It also has Weave, to get closer to the Incarnate softcap (59%) if you are on a trial with lots of End recovery but low Defense buffs. Won't normally need it. Also, has 2450 HP before attack slotting.

The reason i did not put the steadfast in there is because I was already SC with out it. Granted it would give me more def. You also only slotted 1 end on practiced brawler with no recharge and I do HAMI with my tanks, that is why i put those MBs in there. I know it is a positional build. And the thunder strikes I put in there and yes I messed up a bit there i meant to put 4 in there for the + 7 ACC.

Different ATs doesn't even have a bearing when discussing simple build mechanics. I was trying to point out using Mako's for +range instead of Red Fortune. Or even using Crushing Impact in your attacks for the +rech. You don't need all of those slots in the toggles/passives when it is ridiculously easily to hit the softcap with tanker SR.

But thank you for pointing out that glaring flaw. I'll be sure to go back and read the game manual for clarification on AT roles. /sarcasm

What does Hami do that requires double stacking PB?

Invuln/Elec/Ice/Fire/DarkArmor can't double stack their status protection, and do fine (same numbers as 1 PB).

Not saying you are wrong, I just don't understand.

Sorry for the confusion I was half asleep when I posted that thought it was Taunt for some reason. As for PB on Hami it is also the KB protection just like for SD this way Hami will not KB you around when taunting.

Single stacked PB provides the same KB protection as Invuln./WP/Ice get. Do those get knocked around by Hami? I've never heard that they do. So, I still don't see the point of double stacking it.

Actually they have although it is rare I have seen them get KBed. I have a total of 6 times on my WP tank getting KBed, 4 of those times was when we did a zerg.

If you build a scrapper for durability, which plenty of folks do, it's not going to be *too* different conceptually. Granted, the tanks higher numbers mean that you can spend slots elsewhere, but otherwise, the concept will be similar..

Now if you wanted to focus on all damage output, that's on you, but you can't say that that is a flaw with build X being too scrappery, as some folks would love a tank build built to max damage output..


All comes down to personal preference.

@ Ice Knight.. That is a seriously impressive build. Your skills in Mids far exceed mine with melee characters.

Seems all I am good at is building toons with high recharge or high ranged defense. LOL

Just out of interest LSK did your build idea change at all? I came up with something I thought was alright and its pretty much a mix of suggestions with my own personal choice of epic powers thrown in. Can't post it, I forgot to save it.

There is a few good suggestions, but none of the really works well with my play style, IE some do not have fly which I like in my build, and takeing taunt way to late in build, when I do exemp down to do certain TFs/SFs and other thing where I like to get taunt either at or before lvl 20. Just a few examples.

I made a SR/MA so I've been working on a few builds. This one just goes for as much DEF as possible, with good enhancement+ damage procs in every attack. Probably overkill.

I may work on a few more with Aid SELF, and maybe another AoE attack like Spring Attack, or Fireball since MA only has one PBAoE depending on how my survivabilty, and offensive performance is with these types of builds. Not sure I even want to keep the fighting pool. My softcapped BS/SR scrapper does pretty well with Aid Self instead.
