When Should I Get My Next Allotment Of Paragon Points?
As existing VIP subscribers, when the City of Heroes Freedom Head Start began, your game accounts automatically received credit for being active in September, as your first month of having VIP status. Paragon Points were awarded on the date Head Start began, instead of on your monthly billing date.
Going forward from October you will receive your Paragon Points on your game account's billing date as long as you maintain VIP status.

Thank you very much! That is what I thought was going on, but hadn't seen it addressed specifically before.

And really... Thanks, Paragon Studios for the bonus September points up front!

What needs to be clarified is whether these things accumulate at the BEGINNING of the month on your billing date or at the END of the month on your billing date.
So, if I'm a Premium player. And I become a VIP for precisely 1 month starting October 10th, 2011.
Do I receive these things on October 10th or on November 10th?
(1) 400 paragon points
(2) 1 paragon reward token
(3) 1 free character transfer
They're both my billing date, but it's unclear to me which is the answer.
Obviously the preferred answer would be October 10th, since I'm *unlikely* to be able to make productive use of that 1 free character transfer after my month of VIPness is over.
And given that I subscribed on Day 1 of Freedom, and I received my character transfer tokens a week later when they handed them out, I'm guessing that the answer is October 10th for *at least* #3.

I can say this (and this also, again, is for people who believe they did not receive their Vet Reward Token), I received my Vet Reward Token on my billing date. I assume that was for starting the new month and not for the previous month (You get one when you start, so that explains that there).
So, Reward Tokens do seem to be upfront and I can't imagine PPs being the opposite.
Maybe none of that helps... but... So there!

You are supposed to get your "stuff" when you "purchase" a month (even if you're on a multi-month sub, your purchase date is the same on all your non-billing months).
So your October stuff should show up on October 10.
Now whether it actually happens that way remains to be seen. We haven't yet seen a "real" Freedom month yet (since part of September was beta, part was headstart, and part was official launch).

Then it's time for them to get off the cross, use the wood to build a bridge, and get over it.

My billing date is the last day of the month (September 30 in this case). Does that mean I will not receive my Paragon Point allotment until my October billing date? I am a VIP subscriber, but I have not, as of yet, received in Paragon Points for this month.

Players that just started their VIP accounts after the head start began have to wait until their next billing cycle to get their points. So anyone who started a new VIP account after the 13th won't see any points until the same date in October.
Players that think a mistake has been made need to contact customer support.
Agreed, Forbin.

Of course, it may come this week and not be a problem at all, I just felt like posting something somewhat possibly interesting/helpful.
My billing date is not until later in the month, so this is not an issue for me.

This whole system is just confusing and unintuitive.
They said that you're supposed to get your points on the date your billing cycle turns over or whatever, so if it turned over in September, you'd get nothing since you already got your September points. Ok, that's fine and dandy, but my cycle turned over on the 1st, and I renewed my VIP status yesterday (tried to do it a week ago, but technical issues caused it to not go through). I haven't gotten my points yet.
What's concerning me now, is, does this mean I'm supposed to get my points at the end of this month's billing cycle? Well, the end of this cycle for me will be in November. So if all the other info is accurate, then does that mean the points I get then will be November's points? What happened to October's points? Does the fact that I counted as a Premium player for several hours between the end of my last billing cycle and when I renewed my account somehow prevent me from getting points for this month?
And as someone else pointed out, what good does it do anyone to get their points at the end of their billing cycle? Especially if they can't maintain their VIP status for the following month. And if so, would they even still get their points, since they're no longer a VIP at the point they'd get them? If not, what does that mean for those of us who prefer to renew our accounts manually rather than continuous billing?
Honestly I wish they'd stop beating around the bush and come out and explain to us exactly how this system is supposed to work, because the small amount of info they've given us isn't enough. If there's a bug in the system, then they should just come right out and tell us, so that way we at least know that the reason we're not getting our points for this month is because of a bug, and not because of some weird convoluted rules the system has that they're not explaining.
Two wrongs don't make a right. However, three rights make a left.

Hello again, Due to the launch of Head Start in the middle of September, the next Paragon Points rewards for VIP accounts have been pushed back to Oct. 11. Any accounts that received bonuses on Sept. 14 will need to wait until then, regardless of their monthly billing cycles. Paragon Reward Tokens should continue to be granted based on total monthly activity for an account, including referrals and other bonuses granted in the past. This could cause this reward to be granted on an irregular schedule. If you have any further questions, please let us know. |

I was actually wondering this exact same thing. I went out and bought a gamecard on Saturday the 24th and applied it when I got home. My renewal date was Sunday the 25th. No reward token(s), no Paragon Points. I double checked my account page to verify that I did put it in right and everything looks fine.
edit: nevermind about the reward tokens, just logged in and those are there waiting, but no PPs. Perhaps they changed when those are given out and forgot to tell us?
