Ice/Time or ice/poison
Yes you can have multiple auras on simultaneously.
With that said, I'd still like to hear about experiences. I'm strongly considering ice/time but I'm worried about endo management. Very worried...
Global = Hedgefund (or some derivation thereof)
'I don't like the look of it at all,' said the King: 'however, it may kiss my hand if it likes.'
'I'd rather not,' the Cat remarked.
'Don't be impertinent,' said the King, 'and don't look at me like that!' He got behind Alice as he spoke.
'A cat may look at a king,' said Alice.
I'm worried about the Tier 9 Toggle in Poison not being colorable. I have asked for a confirmation, but if we have to run it as is, I'm not interested, and thats sad given how devastating the Ice/Poison combo would be.
Ping me at @Psion or Psion2.
Time will definitely be more survivable. I'm not sold on Poison yet. I'm not saying Poison is awful but I'm also not really impressed with it. Someone might find a way to make it great though.
My vote goes to Ice/Time. Good synergy with the slows and a great teamer. Damage will be near non-existant but that's what teammates are for.
When there is no room left in Hell, the Dead shall walk the earth.
The endurance use is indeed horrific. DOs are vital to being able to fight at all with both auras running. That said, running sewer trials with teams I was able to either keep healing during fights or fire off my hold to keep the bosses more helpless while providing debuff support all the while. The recovery hydra helps as well. With SOs and a recovery bonus or two, it should run fine as long as you're cautious until you get recovery boost powers.
The amount of slowing you can do is rather intense. You've got a fairly large PBAoE where run speed is floored, no one can jump or fly and all sorts of yummy debuffs ocur in addition to the occasional confuse. And then you drop an ice slick over here! A disruption field over there! Ambush! Shiver them! Buff the crap out of your team some more! New ice slick!
Yeah, it's a fun team build...
I have an Ice/Time at 23. Two End Reds in both toggles and 3 End Mods in Stamina by the time you slot DOs and you'll be fine. The toggles work together VERY nicely, and unlike a toggle like Hot Feet, its relatively low aggro.
The thing that will really save your bacon is the Fear component in Arctic Air. Enemies spend much of their time trying to run away from you... veeeeerrry sloooooooowly.
The two toggles also look nice together visually! I named mine White Cherry, after the slurpee flavor.
Stay Gold, Paragon. Stay Gold.
Nolite te bastardes carborundorum.
Ice/Time is fantastic. The endurance use sucks but as long as you keep a couple blues on you you should be fine, and I don't run the auras all the time; I usually just save Time's Juncture for bosses/AVs because AA is enough most of the time.
That said, with both auras, the control you have is awesome and with arctic air, distortion field, the ST holds, ice slick and flash freeze (I don't have glacier yet) I can keep mobs busy at all times. The time slows keep things in your arctic air/ice slick, so you don't have to use frostbite or chilblain ever and cancel out your knockdown. Even though my damage is bottom tier, it's a great support combo and I still feel like I'm contributing.
I can't recommend temporal mending enough, in sewer trials I was able to pseudo-tank because of it. Turn on your auras, pop the HoT, jump in, debuff/control everything and walk out with full health. It's one of the most fun combos I've tried, but if damage is your thing then stay away!
Damage is a serious issue, yes. On the other hand you can go +1/x4 at level 12 and not have trouble surviving so keeping a pet blaster or scrapper alive is pretty simple.
Im thinking Ice/Time would be the best due to the fact that ice and time will work together and stopping recharge attack rate on enemies to the point they can't fight back really. Artic air and time's juncture both have a 25ft. radius (pretty sure) and if you run those 2 powers throw out distortion field and ice slick, then jump in the middle of the mob, you would have -Speed -Recharge, -To hit, -Damage and artic air I believe would stack with everything giving you even more -Speed, -Recharge, -Stealth and confuse and ice slick is also -Speed, -Jump and knockdown.
You run those powers inside a mob I would think you would make them come to a complete halt.
Ice slick is better than earthquake from a earth controller far as knockdown goes right?
Thinking that ice/time will the be the -recharge machine
Venomous gas on the other hand gives you -Res, -Def, -Dmg, -To hit, so those things there have my interest. I still think that the -Recharge and -Speed would benefit you more than the -Res and -Def from venomous gas which i think is only 15 ft. radius
I was thinking of creating an ice troller / time, from what I read here, now i do one!
I was doing some more reading, I think that ice/time will be better at lower lvl's but ice/poison better at higher lvl's. with ice/poison, you have shiver and neurotoxic breath that you can use back to back which will do -recharge and -Spd and artic fog with venomous gas will give you the -res,-def, -dmg, -to hit. This is very tough for me to decide between, cause time's juncture gives you the -dmg and -tohit. So when you think about artic fog and venomous gas you get -Stealth, -Recharge, -Spd, -Def, -Res, -Dmg, -To hit vs. ice time's dual aura of -Stealth, -Recharge, -Spd, -Dmg, -To hit, and more -Spd. you gain a -Res and -Def with ice/poison.
Thing is the ice/time radius is 25 ft, for both power pretty sure while ice/poison is 25ft, and venomous gas is 15ft.
Does venomous gas run as a toggle that runs for a short while or does it stay running?
I just dont want to wait till lvl 38 to see how well artic fog and venomous gas works, when I can get artic fog and time's juncture before lvl 6
32lvl difference there, not sure if 32 lvl's would be worth the wait, but to run shiver and neurotoxic breath back to back would be cool though.
I think that ice/time will be better at lower lvl's but ice/poison better at higher lvl's.

As for higher levels, I took my Ice/Time in Beta to the Underground Trial, and had to be very aggressive (probably reckless) to feel like I was any real danger, but that was with a good team, so maybe it didn't prove that much.
Anyone who has tried either ice/time or ice/posion please post your experience with it please, thanks
Well I made a Ice/Time controller and still in the early lvl's like lvl 15 and so far very good. The artic fog + time's juncture is working very nice but the thing that is working very well and actually suprisingly helpful is the confuse element in artic fog. You start a battle and the enemy at random starts to get confused then back to normal may do 1 attack and back to confuse again. Then they start to attack their own teammates but due to the -Tohit from time's juncture they dont really land a hit on their own teammates. This combo seems to be really shutting the enemies down from doing much, but still alot can change through the progression of lvl's and still early lvl's much can change this.
Really wanting to hear feedback from anyone that has done ice/posion and run the artic fog + venomous gas, anyone out there?
Ice/poison is one I really want to try but really want to hear someone's feedback on this.
Time will definitely be more survivable. I'm not sold on Poison yet. I'm not saying Poison is awful but I'm also not really impressed with it. Someone might find a way to make it great though.

The toons in your sig made me laugh pretty hard. Well done good sir.

I'm really digging my ice/time troll. I never really cared much for ice control before this (I'm more of an illusion or earth kinda guy) but my ice/time is pretty fun. The arctic air and time's juncture combo is surprisingly effective at shutting spawns down. I will admit, I do spend a lot of time staring at things and silently wishing them ill-will rather than actually hurting them but that's what dps pets (i.e. teammates) are for.
I have to agree with a lot of Maestintaolius' and others' sentiments I'm enjoying Ice/Time and finally enjoying Ice more than I have in the past, but I'm only just getting to the 20s so I can't really add anything. Also no idea on Ice/Poison. Your reasons are compelling, someone out there has to have tried it!!

You'll never kill much of anything, but that's not your job. My Ice/Time is enjoyable if I'm in the mood to watch things moon walk in slow motion.
Just some notes here:
- Per the upthread comments- Ice/Time's endurance problems end abruptly once you get any form of Cardiac Alpha slot and decent end bonuses from IO's. I couldn't run out of endurance if I tried, and I run the toggle-heavy version of the build.
- Shiver or N. Breath (or both) can be somewhat redundant, especially if you're running the toggle heavy builds that already have a lot of -Recharge - Speed in them and you're using Distortion field. I've seen some folks keep Shiver but I've never needed it.
- I go with a Ranged defense build, as I have no problems with mobs that are close to me with all the toggles, obviously, so I like the ranged defense and mez protection more than having capped S/L. (Thats just preference though).
- Your money powers for NOT getting spiked are still Ice Slick and Glacier. Run in without using either of those on mobs that are +4, and you may be taking a dirt nap. Use distortion field alone before running in, and you still might be taking a nap if there's no other aggro control. Not every time, but enough to realize that you just need to use either power on new groups of mobs if you're taking the alpha engagement of that specific group by yourself. If not, just let the tank/Brute/Scrapper do their job and follow with your debuffs/holds, etc.

A small note on leveraging Ice Control solo without faceplanting: learn to make use of corners and line of sight. Ice Slick is a surprisingly good opener, especially if you intentionally don't place it directly under the whole group. Instead, drop it around a corner tagging a couple of guys somewhere in the path enemies have to take to reach you. The other enemies will come running up behind quickly, then get caught on the edge of the patch, where they all end up congregrated. They won't be able to move toward you as quickly if the guy in front of them falls over, either. Wait for a moment when a bunch of them are on their backs, then come running in.
The -Run Speed in Ice Slick is actually very useful IMO and normal enemies almost never manage to escape it. You can also do this with other slow patches but Ice Slick is especially good because the knockdown eats up a lot of time the enemy would have spent running toward you. Sometimes enemies don't make it off the slick for the entire 30 second duration.
Thinking about either Ice/time or Ice/poison, cause im liking the idea of two aura's on at the same time. Will they cancel each other out, am I allowed more than 1 aura on at the same time?
Artic air + Time's juncture Artic air + venomous gas
Anyone roll this yet?
If so fill us in on how it went.
