Races
actually, i agree, maybe even make these special case areas where only relevant powers would be non-grayed out. its fun on the chalet and it was a blast on guild wars with the beetle racing.it could also keep an eye to make sure you dont go out of the allowable course lines.
I recall one day hearing the call for some races on the Freedom hoverboards. With all powers turned off but the 'boards, a well-mapped route through the city canyons with referees strategically placed might make for a good "Friday Night Fights" type weekly competition.
This is totally not what I thought this thread was going to be about

I thought for sure that it was going to be a call to add dwarves and elves to the game.
I've participated in a number of races in the game already. Most of them have been player run, with prizes donated by other players.
I don't really think the game needs a bunch of mini-games added to it to increase it's replayability. Since you never actually WIN the game, the replayability of it is kind of a given.
When you talk about a game's replay value, what you are really talking about is "What incentive is there to play the game again after you get to the end?"
Since the game doesn't ever actually end, replay value doesn't really apply to it.

Mm.
The Pocket D races are... notoriously unreliable, I find.
Don't know if want. Distinguished Competitor Unreliably Online had very fun races, but that game was built from the ground up to work well with them.
What shall claim a Sky Kings' Ransom?

(hand to earpiece) ... I'm being told that Muttley wasn't in Laff-a-Lympics for licensing reasons, and that in fact the character who looked, sounded, and acted exactly like him in that show was called "Mumbly".
I've always thought that some sort of Super Powered Olympics would be an awesome addition to the game.
An instanced map with obstacle courses (similar to the Winter Event slalom) that rely on the player's skill as much as superior slotted travel powers would be awesome.
There should be badge awards... both of the "You won against others" and the "You completed it within X time limit" varieties. The Time Limit badges available at all times while the Defeated Others only in organized competitions.
I like it. I heartily approve.
My mind wanders so often you've probably seen its picture on milk cartons. - Me... the first person version of the third person Steelclaw
There's actually a sensible in-game reason for something "official" too - in a similar way to the arenas being built as a safe way for heroes to test themselves against each other, specially bult race routes would be quite likely in a city with this many superpowered people in it.

Me either.

I've always felt mini-games are rather cheesy in MMOs...but I guess I wouldn't mind as long as they weren't based on stupid, gameable-in-specific-circumstances-only physics glitches. (Why yes, I'm still bitter about the Ski Slopes.)

Help keep Paragon City alive with the unofficial City of Heroes Tabletop Role Playing Game!
We need races in this game. (Speed/flight/leaping/teleporting) Different courses for different travel powers. Have a leaderboard.
The replay value of this game would increase.
Plz do.
