What so special about Nevermelting Ice?

Other than the fact that it's ice, and it never melts.

What I mean is, whenever I open the Invention Salvage category on the WW/BM interface, NM Ice is always at the top of the list. And whenever I go to a store to sell stuff, NM Ice is always by itself at the bottom of the list - it's not grouped with the other common arcane slavage in the Store interface.

Is this just a quirk, or is there a reason it happens? I looked on the wiki and it doesn't say anything about NM Ice following some sort of special rules or anything. Just curious.

There are a couple of potential reasons:

1) It's used in a lot of high-demand recipes, and therefore is a piece of salvage that is in high demand.

2) It's used in a lot of common recipes that are used a lot in a build, making people need more of them than other common arcane salvage in that range.

3) Someone is flipping them for short-term gain.

Am I mis-reading the question? Are you saying it's placement on the market window is dependent upon its sales?

The way I'm reading it, when the mousedroid opens the market and clicks on Salvage->Invention, Ice appears at the top of the listing. Mouse's question is why is it popping up there and not grouped with other arcane salvage.

For me, when I do this, it shows up as :

Nevermelting Ice (arcane)
Steel (tech)
Clockwork Winder (arcane)
Scientific Theory (tech)
Psionic Threat Report (arcane)
... 3 more techs followed by an arcane

From what I can tell, there's no grouping at all when you first pop it open.

And I, too, have noticed that Nevermelting Ice is always positioned at the bottom of the list when you're selling salvage at a vendor. It's below the other uncommon and rare arcane salvage instead of grouped with the rest of the common Tier 3 arcane salvage. It's not harmful, but puzzling and annoying nonetheless.

Reading the OP fail.

Though in your defense, I thought I knew what the question was before I read it too.

Yup, definitely missed that key part of the OP. Oops! My bad!

So with Nevermelting Ice and Unquenchable Flame, it should finally be possible to keep both a popsicle and 2 cups of coffee cold and hot respectively in your Thermos at the same time.

Yes, and Nevermelting Ice doesn't water down your booze.

Just be careful, you don't want to mix the two and wind up traveling through time unintentionally.
