Incarnate Shards Question
trying to get lore incarnate abilities with shards solo would take VERY VERY long time
if you have not unlocked any slots yet then it would take even longer
my advice is to work on anything other than alpha is to run incarnate trials since you can get what you want in a more reasonable time frame
to get to the lore slot you must first unlock alpha and judgement, then to actually slot it you need to get the components which for lore all require incarnate threads which are only dropped from trials or you can convert shards
currently the shard drop rate while solo is pitifully low and it could take several years to unlock and fully slot all 5 incarnate abilities
a majority of the trials are not very long, so if you run BAFs or lambdas (the average completion times for these is about 20-30 minutes)
for a more detailed read on this stuff, heres the wiki page for it
I've been a bit out of the loop for awhile, and walking in on this incarnate stuff is a bit overwhelming. Above all right now, I want to get some of those new Lore Incarnate Slots to get my Arachnos Soldier some Arachnos henchmen. I don't have quite as much time to play as I used to, so what are the best ways to raise some Incarnate Shards? Are there any viable ways solo, as my time is often fragmented while playing? If not solo, what's the best way in general?
Thanks! |
It's true that the Keyes and Underground trials are pretty long and confusing (in my opinion), but the BAF and Lambda tend to go pretty fast (again, in my opinion). If you're able to (and I say this as someone with a really limited amount of play-time myself), squeezing in a run or two of a trial a week will speed you along the path of the Incarnate light years faster than grinding everything out.
TL;DR: If you can't put a lot of time into your incarnate stuff, the trials are still better than grinding shards.
There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.
Thanks very much to both of you. If trials are just 20-30 minutes (those two at least) I may be able to swing one of those every once in awhile.
I'm not BRAND new to incarnates, I have the Alpha slot open on two of my guys, but it's been long enough that I've been away from the game that even that stuff was a little unclear to me again. Thanks for your help.

Admittedly you might want to run them once or twice first to learn them yourself before leading but once you know the basics leading them mostly just involves telling people which strategy to use.
The best way to get Shards, for what it's worth, is just to adventure. There's a chance of getting a shard whenever you fight even-con or better mobs (I think it's even-con or better, it might be blue or better), whether you're exemplared or not. There's a better drop chance with bosses, so one of the best ways to rack up a few is to do the Imperious Task Force since there's a higher-than-average number of bosses in that.
And the trials are a great way to build up salvage, Incarnate XP, and threads to use for constructing bits of salvage you don't have. As well as earning Astral and Emperean (sp?) merits that can be used for other things. But one thing that hasn't been mentioned yet is running the Weekly Target Task or Strike Force. It's a great way to get a Notice of the Well once a week--and once you've crafted your third-tier Alpha (well, two third-tier Alphas, since you need a second third-tier to combine for a fourth-tier), any subsequent Notices you get can be broken down into 40 Threads, which equals two common Incarnate salvage items.
"My inner mind has become a reality-cracking overgod. He torments me! Help!"
It's also true that bosses have a MUCH higher chance to drop shards than minions and LTs, so street sweeping in RWZ or RV may get shards faster than missions. RV is particularly nice since each of the four turrets on a pillbox is a boss and you can bring along a slowbot to help.
