Bases & Beta (Freedom)
One thing I noticed is that the vet reward base items apparently only award once per character on beta, rather than being able to be claimed as many times as you want like on live.
I reported it in the Paragon Rewards bug thread, but it would probably be helpful if someone else could test this and verify that it's not working for them either.

And I've also mentioned it in the PR Feedback Thread.
I've also still not seen any response to the questions I asked last week... namely, if base edit permissions were going to be tied to VIP status rather than (or in addition to?) SG permissions.

Bases
|
More please.
So, we have a case of losing base items on the one hand, but getting a long needed fix & a bone on the other hand.
While I agree it is at least some luvin', it feels... odd.
If the base item issue can be fixed, my happy dance would be happier.

It's a shame that the Paragon Store won't be accessible from bases (though I can certainly understand the rationale for this move since bases and instance missions were causing problems). That'll make crafting and storage of Paragon Store purchased items slightly more inconvenient.
Also, I've given up trying to "read the tea leaves" for the rationale for what winds up making it through the development process for bases. At least this time I don't think there will be much of a backlash (for those of you that remember the beakers on beaker rack "improvement"). So, I'm celebrating a good thing here with alphabetical sorting.
I speculate that things like this will continue to trickle out from time to time much as they have in the past (and this is the reason no dev has gone on record saying "nothing" is happening with base development).
One man's terrorist is another man's freedom (or freem?) fighter; just as one man's exploit is another man's feature.
Not sure.... is this considered "fix't"?
Certainly, the leak seems to have been stabilized during edit mode, but there is still a slow accumulation.... The thing that made me go , was the massive memory usage as I exited the base into the "game world"... It certainly doesn't match what I started with when I logged in. I could see this being a problem for some folks.. |
Impish Kat, if you could provide timestamps for those memory snapshots and what you were doing in the editor between the particular readings, it would help us identify any possible remaining memory leaks.
Additionally, when tracking memory leaks it is often helpful to verify that the memory value being tracked is the actual memory not just the memory that is currently physically located in RAM at the time. Task manager is often not the best tool for this. You might try Process Explorer and view the Private Bytes or Virtual Size values. These can give better estimates of what memory is being used and who requested it. Thanks for your help in helping to track down these issues and make the game better! |

On Beta everyone is a Premium account.
We are able to invite others to our SG.
We are able to edit bases.
Don't know if Prem will be able to pay base upkeep yet, I haven't found an SG with any rent due to see if the Base Registar would even give me that option.
Yep. Beta's a bit buggy yet.

On Live the option to pay rent is always there at the registrar. In Beta, the option was not visible when I was a Premium player, even though the character had a fairly high SG rank. I can confirm most of the other things - as a Tier 7 or 9 Premium I could edit a base or invite members, but not form a new SG. I've bugged and mentioned in the closed beta forums the problem with consumable Vet Reward items.
Also SG logo decorations are currently bugged - have been for a month or more - all the emblems are the biohazard symbol.
I'm on a dummy account now, with the lowest reward level that can join a super group, and I can edit.
Currently the only change that I've noticed so far, and mind you I have not messed with bases a lot yet is that (I believe its all storage but I checked on enh bin) the bins sort alphabetically now.
You may now return to your tedious stacking ^_^
