Static Field and Proc

So, I ran across a Call of the Sandman: Chance to Heal Self proc the other day, and thought "My Elec/Stone Dom could use that", otherwise I would've sold it. Given that this is a placeable AoE, not a click power like Mesmerize or Mass Hypnosis, would the proc be worth placing in Static Field?

I'm expecting it to be a decent chance for +Heal because of how often it would proc, plus how many targets I might have in the field.

Anyone tried this out, or know if it would work?

Always up for teaming with good players, so hit me up: @Deceivius and @Deceivius2

I'm afraid it isn't going to work the way you hope. It will roll a chance to proc when you initially cast Static Field, but that is all. Afterward, the Static Field entity is considered the caster so any heals go toward it though it cannot be damaged.

Actually, I have tried this out, and can verify two apparent disappointments with it:
  1. It only procs once when the power is cast, not when/if another target runs into it.
  2. It never procs more than once per cast, no matter how many targets I throw it under.
Did this a while ago when I got the CotS: Chance for Heal a while back as a random drop, figured it'd be worth playing with, even if I didn't plan on leaving it on my elec/elec dom. Glad if it helps more than just me out.

Where to find me after the end:
The Secret World - Arcadia - Shinzo
Rift - Faeblight - Bloodspeaker
LotRO - Gladden - Aranelion
STO - Holodeck - @Captain_Thiraas

Obviously, I don't care about NCSoft's forum rules, now.

At low levels, I would 5 slot it with whatever gives you the best bonus you want. It is a great power up to 30ish solo, if you play a char that requires a lot of setup. But post 22, many doms don't require a lot of setup. A ton of recharge and your chain confuse goes a lot farther then the sleep, unless you can already lay down multiple sleep patches at a time. Keep in mind your confuse generates no agro. But if you can lay down multiple sleep patches at once, I think you have access to a lot of other potentially more awesome options.

Don't forget that Static Field also have a good row of debuffs, movement, recharge, endurance and recovery (if I remember correctly).

Also, "patch" power's are very good for ambush in choke points (doorways, corners etc).

...and...you can fire of Static Field around a corner

one proc that i would think would be interesting to try in static field is the energy manipulator: chance to stun proc, since everything in it is getting -recov they would also have a chance for mag 2 stun, good for stacking or mitigation for woken foes
