Just as the title says.

The sets I've been the considering the most are robots and ninja. Bots because they are already do KB and the only thing better than KB is MORE KB!! I considered ninja because they can run after the mobs being knocked away. I'm open to suggestions. Discuss.

Virtue toons
Techno Force Bot 50 Bot/FF mm
Siphon Blaze 50 Fire/Kin troller
Ionic Pulsar 50 Energy/Elec brute
Lord Enlil 50 Energy/Energy blaster

bots, mercs, thugs
all primaries who are mainly ranged are good for storm as those guys dont run after all the flying mobs
ninjas isnt good as your tier 3 wwants to lock the guys down

Helge2 corr lvl 50 ice/rad
Techbothelge MM lvl 50 robo/dark
Helge Mauz def lvl 50 emp/ele

I disagree.

Storm is almost made for ninjas with all the soft control/ you want a set that keeps mobs trying to avoid standing still so they can't attack therefor keeping your pets alive.

My ninja/storm is one of my favorite sets to play (with Team TP). Its a mobile group of havoc where mobs run in all directions chased down by fast pets who make quick work out of them to the point that most the time (after dropping the AoE debuffs) all I do is target the next group to Team TP them into. It's chaos at it's best.

You can search my name to find the build I use (prior to fitness being inherent).

Honestly, bots are better then ninjas in almost every way, so bots/storm is going to be much more survivable and damaging then bots/ninja.

OTOH /storm has more synergy with ninjas then most other secondaries, so ninja/storm would suck less then most other ninja MMs. You've got KB survivability tools, lots of -tohit, a defence/resist aura, can slot the recharge intensive pet procs, and you have a heal to spam.

If you're looking for something awesome I'd go bots or thugs or demons. If you're an experienced MM looking for a challenge I think ninja/storm played carefully and well IO'd would be pretty decent.

I've sworn off creating new alts until I get a couple more existing toons to 50, but Ninja/storm is next on my list

As "average" as mercs are, they actually fit well with Storm because 1. tornado can give them another set of pet unique and 2. you get extra damage from tornado and lightning storm. Mercs will need any other damage source you can get and Mercs knocks back just as much as Robots do.

Mercs also don't have any fire, energy and cold resistance which /storm can provide.

And since all soldiers are range (although they do run all the time), Hurrican works well. I feel Merc/Storm has very good synergies but Merc isn't the "best" so....

What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.

Well, if i were min/maxing... I wouldn't even start with ninja or storm... the standard being bots...thugs /traps..

But for a completely different play experience... ninja/storm made the cut and with dual pet IOs of goodness, it becomes a very survivable combo. It's not going to take down any big named AVs, but it's a heck of a lot of fun to play. So, for an experienced MM player, I always voice the positive to said combo; why should I be the one having all the fun... if you like chaos that is (and I do, I have a tattoo that says so).

I agree with Jibikao. Mercs is a good synergy for it if you can stand playing them. You can hold a boss down with Hurricane while your henchmen gun him to death from behind you.

I haven't tried it with ninjas, but I would think that the time your ninjas have to spend chasing down enemies after they get thrown around would reduce their damage output a bit. However, the fly protection from Snow Storm could be very handy in keeping hovering enemies from flying out of melee range from your ninjas.

For Bots, the addition of the option to slot a "recharge intensive pet" +5% defense IO, together with Steamy Mist, can help you get your Bots defense closer to the 45% defense soft cap. The downside is that you have so much knockback in that build it might be difficult to find anyone who wants to team with you.

Then again, you're strong enough that you generally don't need anyone to team with you.

I think there is some overselling of the knockback portion of the /storm secondary. The only random, chaotic knockback effect comes from tornado. Everything else is (ideally) under the player's control, and that involves only two other abilities: hurricane and gale. And hurricane is fantastic for herding a group together for the benefit of your melee pets. Overall, it's a pretty stellar and active secondary for any pet group.

(I love it with my demons! And fire PPP for bonfire loving)

I went Necro for my Storm MM for one reason only... I like having Life drain as a heal since I lack one in my secondary.

I have posted before, and I stand by it: Necro/Storm can be played to wonderful success. Zombies don't get tired chasing. Good stormies learn to pile up the targets and let the pets finish them.

I find my Necro/Storm The Captain of Corpses (my only pirate themed character) to be a lot of fun as well as strong. There's good synergy too; for example, the -acc of Hurricane stacks with the -acc from the Lich, and Steamy Mist helps protect your flammable undead.
