incarnate trials

Was it seriously the intent of the incarnate systems to just be a grind? The same missions over and over again?

quick reply: right now there are only 3 iTrials in-game that you have run again and again, but more Trials will be added in the future.
also: iXP is broken as far as I know.

Yes, it looks like there is 1 trial mission for each of the trial slots? So thats several missions to grind over and over again. That was the intent of the end game content? For each incarnate slot there is a trial to grind 100 times or more? Where is the fun in that?

I keep hearing this, and that it's being fixed, but I never quite heard what was broken about it. Too high? Too low?

Currently 3 iTrials live. 5 incarnate power slots. BAF unlocks Alpha, Judgement and Lore. Lamda unlocks Alpha, Destiny and Interface. Keyes unlocks all. Rewards from all 3 can be used to craft any incarnate power.

One more trial in closed beta due in issue 21. Likely a 5th due between 21 and 22. So yes, limited options, but they are expanding as expanding takes time. It is not the intention to always only have 3 options.

Yes.

And No.

Yes if you want it all RITE NAO! (Especially if you're doing that for many alts.) Then you need to fill up all your gaming time running the iTrials over and over, and again with different alts.

No if you're willing to not be the most uber or not have every single unlock; or, if you're patient. Obviously, if you settle for just Tier 3 powers, it is *a lot less* work than going for Tier 4s. And if you're willing to do them occasionally rather than several times a day, you'll always get an Empyrean Merit, which is worth a lot. Running an iTrial in the Emp cool down period is not efficient use of time.

And part of the grind is that folks are still feeling out the Keyes and not running it with the high efficiency of a Speed Trial yet. A league that knows exactly what it's doing should be able to knock off a Keyes in 30 minutes. We're not there yet.

At least you can run trials. The other night I finally leveled my first 50, unlocked my Alpha slot, and watched the crickets chirp in the channels when I was looking for something to run to get gear for my alpha. Not many people play in the wee hours of the morning when I can play.

Arc #271637 - Welcome to M.A.G.I. - An alternative first story arc for magic origin heroes. At Hero Registration you heard the jokes about Azuria always losing things. When she loses the entire M.A.G.I. vault, you are chosen to find it.

Way too low. After they decided to distribute iXP throughout the entire league, average earned iXP dropped significantly. Before the change, I was getting anywhere from 10 to 35% iXP per run; it went down to a consistent 3% afterwards.

It was too low. Originally, XP was divided among people on each team and that used existing technology and worked correctly. However, it had the problem (particularly in the BAF) that one team (fighting an AV) might get a lot less XP than another team (fighting the adds). So they changed the system to divide XP evenly across the entire league - and broke it in the process.

Supposedly, today's patch fixes it. We'll see.
